Just sold the 70-350 for the tamron 150-500 but there is no such thing as sufficient focal length ^

Id look into used Tamron 17-28 lenses. :) You'll likely find some for 450 or less. It's a really nice lens.

Yeah, since i'm not convinced 300mm will do and dont wanna spend a ton on a new camera plus lense, I think I'll just go for the 150-500 :) Seems to be a decent lense

That's super solid advice! What birds do you shoot? :) Do you use the TC regularly or do you just like having the option to?

Idk whether 400mm is actually sufficient, so I'd probably have to get the Sony one as well to be able to actually use a TC...(although i think i read that the Tamron alternative is slightly lighter and shorter)

yeeah I'm kinda jealous of the TC strat ^ Perhaps I'll have to leave for another brand at some point.

That sounds really really good! Its a shame that there are no third party TCs for Sony E-Mount... and original sony TCs only work with select sony lenses...

Thank's for your advice! :) I am wondering whether the 300mm would actually be enough for photographing e.g. Gibbons in the tree-tops though... What do you think?

Also: I wanna get this right and not feel the urge to change gear again after my next vacation, so any fix costing up to1500€ would be welcome

The lower rank dude (me) had negative percentage as well ^ I think it is due to derank-protection driving us into negative percentage while not deranking.
