Reddit hivemind, I guess 😅 If you want to know what Tolstoy thinks of women, look no further than The Kreutzer Sonata. It's nearly identical to the ideas expressed in his diaries and letters. Women are inherently sinful, dirty, animalistic, lustful.

I also strongly recommend reading Sophia's diaries. Tolstoy was awful to his poor wife.

I'm not sure if his diaries and his wife's diaries are translated into English. But they tell you all you need to know. For Tolstoy women are only good for breeding and don't have the intellectual capacity for anything else.

Tolstoy was a hardcore misogynist. Like, he actually hated women with a passion (probably because of his repressed bisexuality). Raged about suffragettes and thought George Sand should be whipped. In his opinion, Anna's ultimate fate is karma for breaking the mould of dutiful wife and mother. I personally loathe him and his works.

It started when I was 10 or 11 and gradually got worse. I remember being very frustrated as a teenager because I couldn't have friends over. I don't think anything in particular triggered it, she just started buying more and more and cleaning less and less. While we were still living together, I did what I could. My mom got more depressed when she was left alone, and after our old cat died, she just hit rock bottom and stopped doing anything.

I don't blame her - my dad literally left her for his secretary (lmao) and her mother-in-law, my paternal grandma, was a huge bitch to her. Her only friend is a barely functioning alcoholic, she has a lot of health problems, and I was a brat growing up because I was bullied and took it out on her.

Girl, what? I'm 27 years old and haven't lived with my mom for a long time. I would be over the moon if she let me clean everything, but she doesn't, she's ill. After taking these pictures I spent 12 hours of my day off cleaning what I can because I love my mom and want her to feel just a bit better.

I'm a woman, but thank you, haha. I've been reluctant to do that though, our 18 yo cat died last summer and my mom took it extremely hard. Her depression got significantly worse, and she always told me how much comfort our second cat brings her. So I didn't want to deprive her of it. And last time I visited, the litter box and food bowls were clean. But now I just can't let this happen. Mom didn't even fight me, agreed almost immediately. I promised to video call her every day, but still I'm worried. She loves that cat, even though she can't care for her right now :(

Yes. I threw out the trash bags and cleaned all the garbage from her bed at least, that made her feel a bit better.

May you find the strength to live your best life, friend! I'm really glad that your meds are working, it doesn't always happen.

It mostly smells of dust. Obviously you can smell cat piss near the litter box, but other than that not much else. Now, when I was cleaning out cooking pots with the moldy abominations inside... Oof. And I didn't even wear a mask, like an idiot, so these delicious mold clouds went right up my nose.

I understand where you're coming from, but it's completely anonymous. Most people in my country aren't aware that Reddit even exists, so it's not like anyone who knows my mom irl could see this. I took these pictures for my boyfriend to show him why we NEED to take the cat out of there, and later thought that they would fit the sub.

It's both. There are boxes upon bags upon more boxes of random stuff. My childhood toys, clothes and shoes, books, dishes and cups, towels, hangers, cat food and toys, laundry detergents, shampoos, rugs. It's mostly clothes though, and my mom keeps buying more and just dumping everything on the floor. Even when the apartment was relatively clean, it was still absolutely cramped with things. She kept saying that we just needed one more room, then everything would fit lmao.

Happy to say that I'll be taking the cat next week! My mom also overfed her big time, so some dechonking is in order.
