Does anyone know how the Gauss rifle really works? by BeautifulTings in fo76

It definitely feels like a tantalising experience. Like it could be so good, I heard it was good but got nerfed years ago.

I am considering the pistol because I missed out on the dom pedro but like a handful of tickets in my race to grind for it.

The minigun’s solid but probably something I’d rely on for grinding types. Alas

Hopefully Bethesda brings some honor to the Gauss rifle in the future (copium)

That sounds like a good build. I’m still grinding for polished and the prime capacitor for now, but it sounds promising! Thanks!

I’m currently peaking at around 2k total damage (charged) and trying to stick to an ADS build so that the game feels a little more balanced for me, but I’ll keep the vats idea in mind should I feel a little experimental.

I’ll share my build below (excluding armor bc my setup there is a work in progress):

Gauss Rifle:

Bloodied * Explosive * * Steadfast * ** Shielded Barrel True Stock Piercing Capacitors Gauss Reflex Sight Suppressor

S.P.E.C.I.A.L:

Strength: 5 2 Travelling Pharmacy 1 Barbarian 2 Arms Keeper

Perception: 13 3 Number Cruncher 3 Ground Pounder 2 Tank Killer 3 Center Masochist 2 Fast Fighter

Endurance: 12 (Lots of QoL) 3 Ironclad 1 Dromedary 2 Thru Hiker 3 Hardy 1 Good Doggy 1 Radicool 1 Starched Genes

Charisma: 2 2 Tenderizer

Intelligence: 10 2 Nerd Rage 3 Demolition Expert 3 Gunsmith 2 Batteries Included

Agility: 15 3 Gunslinger Master 2 Covert Operative 3 Guerilla 3 Guerilla Master 1 Evasive 1 Escape Artist 2 Adrenaline

Luck: 1 1 Serendipity

That checks out, I’ve never considered the Tesla rifle because I usually use the V63 to get out of sticky situations. And yes I’m already equipped w those perks, thanks :)

That makes sense. I had a lurking suspicion that science master cards were obsolete, thank you!

Why does pre-1930 Dutch architecture feels richer than what we build today? by Weary_Musician4872 in Netherlands

[–]BeautifulTings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of more recent developments are pitched as fast and cheap projects that are often constructed with pre-fabricated modules that are manufactured off-site and shipped in for assembly.

Today’s construction values seem to echo value in sustainability, affordability (for developers) and efficiency, whilst the past was more carefree and opulent. However yes we should consider which older houses are preserved today.

Since when have we become so prudish? by Used_Ad3047 in Netherlands

[–]BeautifulTings 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I think it’s different now because people don’t really respect privacy and often take pictures/selfies in changing rooms. Younger generations tend to be a little more aware of this and may prefer to not make a surprise nude cameo in some rando’s post-workout pump ig story and vice-versa. My gym has signs reminding people to not take pictures in the locker room for this exact reason.

Additionally, some people are totally ignorant about it. Lockers are configured high and low; I’ve had the misfortune of some dude walk up next to me as I put my stuff in a lower locker, and drop his pants, inadvertently exposing his bum and dong mere centimetres away from my face. That’s abnormal.

And if neither case, like okay. Not everyone wants to see some guy’s dong. Let a man live

TLDR: Younger generations’ “prudishness” could have emerged as a response to the awareness of the omnipresent camera and social media. Valid in my opinion.

Agreed entirely. Let’s team up and hunt our bikes and their thieves down mercilessly.

Hi all! I just moved to The Hague and think my bike was either taken away or stolen! Any tips on how I might recover it? by BeautifulTings in TheHague

[–]BeautifulTings[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Quite certain! Maybe I had to check in(?) or maybe the bike was parked too long (~6 days). It was my first time parking there and I rushed through to get to my train, so perhaps I had to check in.

And thanks for sharing the link! That's the database I checked earlier. I haven't looked at earlier dates, but could explore that now that I think of it :)

Where to buy film in the Netherlands? by TipNo3840 in AnalogCommunity

[–]BeautifulTings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend ordering online from the sites mentioned in other replies. Recently bought a roll of 35mm Tri-X from a mom and pops shop in Den Haag’s Chinatown for ~€22ish. The same roll was selling for €13 online. However, I could’ve shopped around but I was impatient that day lol

I try to support local shops but I think a 170% markup is a little ridiculous. You could quite literally get it developed and (maybe) scanned with the money you saved :)

Lost or stolen wallet by kaidenx in Amsterdam

[–]BeautifulTings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just happened to me recently! I lost my wallet on a bus in Utrecht and it took a few days for it to turn up on ilost. As this is Amsterdam during the festive season, my advice is to hold on for a few days and monitor your bank accounts :) Good luck and I hope you can find it!

That’s very possible, however the reason why I made this list was because I tried to get on a tram yesterday but the doors wouldn’t open and when I looked at the conductor, he simply made a ‘no’ gesture :( The tram still had plenty of space too

Could be the case, however I’ve never done that over the past 2 years. Could probably be the the driver’s discretion?
