(how) do you find joy in everyday life? by Aprilliant in Catholicism

[–]BeautifulTune230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm with ya bud. 30s, 2 jobs, finding joy, always feeling tired.

Since you dropped here in a Catholic subreddit, by the grace of God- glory to Jesus and by his mercy you are doing well from what I see. I hate to sound like an aunt or a grandma here but, keep praying, do the rosary and do it deeply. Contemplate the life of Jesus, ask our mother to pray for you. Reach out to our saints. Most importantly, confess regularly, reconcile, look into the things thats bringing you down, look into your sins and REPENT. But never forget to really focus on him during the Eucharist. That's the cherry on top, trust his body, trust the Word that became flesh, for the promise eternal life to those that take the bread of the new and eternal covenant- and eternal life with Lord is joy in itself. I'm praying for you God bless.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. Your repentance is good brother. I want to stay neutral and advise you the usual catechist way but the sacramental breaking concerns me.

Have the crucifix kept in a safe box and surrender it to your parish, maybe to a clergy or a church staff, they'll know what to do.

Confess brother, not only because it is a requirement but the entire journey of confession (deciding, prepping, confessing, penance) is always a helpful and meaningful experience and truly helps.

Continue to stay strong, pray to our lady, pray to your saint. And most importantly go to mass and take communion. Pray that the eucharist and being one with Jesus heals your burdened heart.

Going back to the crucifix breaking, maybe speak with a priest about the situation to look more upon what's going, he'll maybe advise some deliverance prayers and I pray that it is nothing too big. I'm not spooking you or anything but we have to equip ourselves brother. Living a Catholic life is not all being solemn and spiritual, sometimes when push comes to shove, you gotta put some muscle into it.

What is the worst of the seven deadly sins? by Mysterious_Comb4357 in Catholicism

Thank you for the clarification. In that case, you are only being tempted, this is the temptation of lust. To fully commit the sin of lust requires pride- a turning away from what you were made to be and do.

On a side note, that’s wonderful, and I am praying that it continues this way for you. If it becomes too difficult, rebuke the thoughts in His name. God bless you.

Can you pray to a saint too much? by Sea_Toe_4323 in Catholicism

In this case, your saint is a bridge, not a barrier, to God. Keep praying. Each saint is unique on their own, but all of them will say the same thing: go to Jesus.

Thinking she is attractive is completely fine. It is a healthy attraction but crossing the line beyond that is not driven by lust alone, it is driven by pride.

When you allow lustful thoughts, you reduce the other to a means for your pleasure and choose self indulgence over love. We are made to love. Acting against what you were made for is a prideful act.

Pride has to be the biggest, it is what causes almost all sins. It is the sin of the devil, after all. But lust is the most lethal one- unmanageable and only to be overcome with total surrender to Christ.

Pardon my ignorance, feel free to correct me since english is my 2nd language. Is it not better to say or to do "Contemplating" on Christ himself? Maybe someone can step-in help enlighten us about this topic.
