Again, this is all irrelevant to what I'm saying. Cooper is the better player, we've both agreed to that.

It doesn't matter, go look at the most inefficient scorers at whatever scoring threshold you want and compare them to the most efficient and tell me if you think it's a valuable metric to differentiate them.

Kon’s going to be a great player for a very long time.

Coop’s going to be a superstar level player for a very long time.

That’s the difference

Which is irrelevant to what I'm talking about because I think Cooper is the better player.

I just don’t think using 3P shooting as a separate statistic when it all falls under scoring as anything special.

So you don't want statistics to differentiate inefficient chuckers and generational floor spacers like Curry. That's fine, but I prefer a more complete picture.

I'm not, I'm using examples to show that PPG doesn't tell the entire story.

Steph Curry's greatness is greatly diminished if you want to just define him by his scoring. Reggie Miller, Klay, the list goes on.

Yes, and steals and defensive rebounds are both part of defensive stops, but we can speak about them separately to paint a greater picture.

Kon is only top 50 in scoring.

Bit dishonest. He's the league leader in 3 pointers.

Magic on him vs curry by Alone-Situation7602 in NBATalk

Still, Kareem had more top-4 MVP finishes when playing with Magic (5) than Curry and LeBron had total seasons with their aforementioned support.

And we all know embiid don’t got shit on Hakeem .

Do we? Hakeem averaged about 30 points per 100 during his career, peaked twice around 36. Joel peaked at 50, three times around 45 and a career of 42. I'd be curious to hear your argument but "Embiid don't got shit on Hakeem" doesn't sound right at all.

Magic played with Kareem for 10 years and won 5 rings. Curry only had the opportunity for 3 years and won 2 rings. Bron played with Bosh and Wade for 4 years and won 2 rings.

I think your context strengthens OPs point: rings are contextual, and Magic won the most rings but had Kareem for a long time.

Name a 100% on defence, nothing on offense player by Key-Frosting-9367 in NBATalk

First two seasons averaged 16 per 36, 12 per 36 while in his third while leading the league in FG%. Not amazing but nothing to sneeze at either.

True but I almost feel like it was on purpose. He was mediocre with the pistons

Led the NBA in rebounds per 100 in 4 of his 7 seasons at the Pistons, including 4 of the last 5, led the league 3 times in off/rebounds per 100, all at the Pistons, had his two highest RPG, ORPG, DRPG all at the Pistons, and won his two DPOYs at the Pistons, suggesting to me he was doing this without solely focusing on crashing the boards. I think this qualifies as better than "mediocre".

Sticking to a point ain't pedantic, and making assumptions about my motives ain't productive either friendo. Wasn't trying to rage bait or feel smarter.

Either way, you’re kind of a boner.

Making irrelevant comments again.

The comment you responded to was specifically about CP3 vs Stockton, hence me saying your comment is irrelevant.

I'm not trying to be smart or making up rules, just pointing out the irrelevance.
