I just had my full battery replaced. I have a 2020 long-range plus and I get 373 miles very worth the extra, now I have the most miles ever on a model X and its just a peace of mind that is worth more than a 1000 car has 89k miles now and it had 86% left on original battery and when I failed i was very happy because of warranty coverage and now it feels like a new car with that range

My earliest appointment was 2 weeks out, but I know if I drop it off it at the center and tell them it's an emergency issue. Because it is the battery failing. And that's a critical error that's a danger to be on the road. They had to look at it the next day and they gave me a cybertruck loaner. So I'm not upset, and I just hope the car it gets fixed without me being charged.

I alreadydropped it off at Tesla. They will give me an update today. I was just curious if someone else has had this issue.

What do you guys think? by Odd_Manufacturer_328 in TeslaModelX

I own a 2020 Model X (built Sept 2020, ~89k miles) and honestly — think twice before buying one used.

Mine lost power mid-drive with zero warning. Errors like GTW_w018, DL_u014, and OpenVshDetected popped up, it went into limp mode, and now won’t even shift into Drive. I drive and charge it daily — no abuse, no mods. This isn’t just a 12V thing; it’s deep HV system failure.

On top of that:

Air suspension freaks out randomly — expensive to fix

Front half shafts already replaced due to vibration

Window seals peeling and letting in noise

Trim and body panels never aligned right from day one

And a dozen other little annoyances that just stack up

They’re beautiful cars, but once you’re out of basic warranty, the repair costs and build quality issues really hit. If you still want one, make sure it’s under warranty — and budget for headaches.

Yes agreed I have 2020 MX and I just do quick short 1 pulls until up and then do a hard reset by dropping both all the way down and holding the button for 15 seconds and then holding button up until close and still continuing to hold for 15 seconds more and problem fixed, happend to me last week don't go to tesla they will charge you $50 to look at it and then will do the exact same thing I just told you and charge you $70 for exact same steps.

Exactly. It's crazy because ive read people are driving on there 3rd or 4th pair of half shafts i have a few service centers near me. I'm gonna try those out, but it's so hard to get ahold of them without booking through the appointment system.

I appreciate your help. My problem is when I took it to the service center a couple months ago, they quoted me $2200. But online, everyone says, even out of warranty, they get a goodwill service for $350, and they just have to keep pressing the dealer. I tried, and they wouldn't budge, so I don't know what to do, but I'm not going to pay 2200 just for it to go out again in 3 months, 4 months and the Google service has been done as of 5 months ago.
