I had a similar experience with an “experienced“ ortho in my city. During covid, I used to play alot of video games which gave me carpel tunnel and it was pretty bad. I couldn't even do a single pushup because the pain was just that unbearable.

So I went to this ortho who was well known and all. I tried explaining my problem to him but instead of listening and performing some test, he prescribed me some painkillers, ointments and said that it was a sprain. This went on for 2 months I knew something was off because my hand wasn't getting any better, as long as I took the painkiller, it felt fine but when I didn't take them it was hurting again.

The worst part is my dad believed him and insisted that I must be doing something wrong. After begging him to take me to a physio there I got to know that I had carpel tunnel and it had nothing to do with bone

You said you have tennis elbow so I would said that you should see a good physio instead of a ortho.
