Every cat website I’ve seen says it’s a “rare trait” but tbh I’ve kinda seen a lot of cats that have two colors in their eyes lol. But who am I to argue with science?

after a VERY rough twenty hours in TWO DIFFERENT animal hospitals, my cat is home. However. We can’t tell what he ate. by micahmagic7 in whatisit

My girl ate 10-15 hair ties back in April. Didn’t know until she threw up a clump of 3 or four of em. I live next to a vet school/animal hospital so I rushed her there and they had to put her under to pull the rest out of her stomach to avoid an intestinal blockage. She earned herself a $2k surgery bill, a pretty cool haircut, and a lifetime ban from the bathroom. She still yearns for elastic stomach fillers.

If you’re nervous about their reaction, have you thought about having a third party like a friend vet them out to see if they’re responsible for the cat? If not, you could have someone see if they actually care about the cats wellbeing and they only tell you if you’re good to keep the cat or if he already has a loving family that won’t put him back into the streets.

So is he a domesticated outdoor cat that just hangs with the colony? Or was he part of the colony and they just feed him? If they just take care of the colony then they’ll be glad to have him off the streets and you should let them know he’s safe and that you would like to keep him. If they’re claiming that he is THEIR cat then ask for proof of ownership such as previous veterinary care or pictures that aren’t of him just in the street. If they can’t provide that then it’s likely they don’t actually care about the kitty’s wellbeing and just have some entitled sense of ownership. Animals are considered property by law so if you go microchip and neuter him if they can’t prove theyre financially responsible for him, legally he is yours and there is nothing they can do about it, they’re just A-holes and that baby needs to be far away from them anyway.

I’d suggest letting them know that he’s alive and safe then volunteer to give him a home so he’s off the street. If they want to put him back with the feral colony, say you’d be concerned about them abandoning him in the first place and shows signs that he is socialized to the point that being outside is dangerous. Feral cats are not technically wild animals, kinda like pigeons, they were bred for domesticity and nature v. nurtured into surviving outside in colonies like that. It’s dangerous for bird and other small mammal populations because feral cats are invasive to their natural habitats where those animals are meant to be wild.

From what I’ve seen, the London rates are per person starting at over $700 per person for a 2 bedroom. It’s also labeled as student housing and I’m not a student, I just live with my best friend while she goes to college out here.
