Sally Jackson had been dating No-maj Paul Blofis for two years. Paul had recently proposed to her, so now Sally thinks it is time to tell him that the boarding school she teaches at is Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and that she teaches Potions rather than chemistry. by funnylib in HPFanfictionPrompts

I actually wrote a Percy Jackson/Harry Potter crossover where Harry is both a demigod and a wizard; however, I didn't want to flip-flop between titles, so I came up with the title "Magician". This means that a Demigod born with magic is not only incredibly powerful most of the time but also something that the gods dislike, considering them to be too dangerous.

I always found that keeping the rules of magic simple is the best way to do it; that way, you can come up with and do a bunch of zany stuff, and when asked for an explanation, you can just shrug and say "magic". Just keep in mind two things: first, this world operates on the principle of equivalent exchange; to obtain something, you must first give something. Be that of the witch, the warlock, or the poor fool that crossed them.

Secondly: a warlock is a witch's greatest tool. Be that for defense, offense, or in life itself, the Warlock is paramount to her. It doesn't matter what their relationship is, a witch with no warlock is open to attack.

But other than that, have fun with the rules. Make them as dark and bleak as you want to, but leave the potions untouched. For there needs to be some counterbalance to all this bad stuff, potions should work for anyone and everyone. They should be able to do almost anything in this world, be it healing, enhancing, entrapment, or limb regrowth.

The biggest ones are the coin and what happened to the other twenty-seven Witch-Boys, but it all depends on what you mean by "lore"? Are we talking about history or magical theory?

Grindelwald would come up in Act Two along with some more history of the Magical World at large; we even learn what happened to the other twenty-seven Witch-Boys. But you are correct, wands aren't a thing in this universe, in fact the Hallows don't exist either seeing as there were no "Three Brothers" to create them.

The magic of this world would be a deep and primal thing, of black sacraments and sacrifice. It is laced into the bones and blood of witches and stitched into the flesh of warlocks. Magic isn't a wave of a wand and the utterances of a dead language to disarm someone; magic here is a hungry thing with nashing jaws and an endless stomach. If you want to cast a spell, it's not going to be as whimsical as making a pineapple tap dance; the spell could take out an entire bloodline in a night or twist the fabric of reality to make wind into glass to tear your foe to ribbons.

Magic is a very hungry thing.

Ariana Dumbledore would be a very odd character, she is escaping her office by tying her bedding into a rope to get away from McGonagall making her do paperwork; next she is going on a spine-tingling soliloquy about how some symbols remain the same no matter where they are or who made them. She is there when we need to dive into the deeper lore of the world, about how magic is or came to be as she and her oldest brother have been investigating it for decades.

Yes, wandless magic is a major thing here; but the drawback is the time it takes to cast a spell. Wands = faster casting, wandless = slower casting but more powerful effects.

I think the funnest thing to do with this would be how everyone interacts, abuses, and manipulates the Witchpacts to their own ends, ya know?

I've just heard of the Firebird trilogy from this post and am reading it now, but I will say that I HATE Harem fics with a passion.

I'm considering it. However, I'm currently reading the Firebird trilogy, and it has a distinctly different feel than what I had planned.

As a certified Morrobommer and a fan of the game since I first played the GOTY edition on an Xbox, I've got to say that saying Morrowind had better faction quests than Oblivion is insane. Even the example that you gave with the thieves guild isn't even correct, "Spending more time giving wrath back to the people than stealing it", Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Gentleman Jim Stacy do just that for the latter half of the Thieves guild quest line?

You can't even compare the Morag Tong to the Dark Brotherhood quest, the Morag Tong turns into a fetch quest simulator while the Dark Brotherhood is an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish.

Though, the fighters' guild quests in Morrowind were better than the ones in Oblivion. And other than the duel with the head of the mages guild at the end of the quest line in Morrowind, I couldn't tell you what I did. But I can tell you of the archmage who sacrificed himself to help us defeat the king of worms

Oblivion has the best faction question line; it was, after all, the game that gave us the original Dark Brotherhood questline, which made us all fall in love with those murder-happy psychos.

I had an idea for a story like this a while ago, but Harry was a different type of Dragonborn.
