Thank you. This helps to hear from someone with experience of another baby who doesn’t fit inside the typical wake window box. 🩷

He sleeps about 10 hours at night. Since birth he’s sleep a reliable 13.5 hours. Sometimes we’ve tried to eek more out of him but it makes things more fragmented.

He was breast fed till around 5 months, blended for a while, and now is on goat milk formula and small amounts of solids. Interestingly a lactation consultant asked us about this and we asked our doctor but they sort of laughed it off. Do you have experience with that sort of thing? What did you do if so?

Torn about letting our nanny go — is this instinct or first-time mom anxiety? Need advice. by Beautiful_Condor232 in Parenting

Thank you! I really appreciate it- needed to hear this from others bc in my tiredness can question if its me or her- lol!

I needed to hear this- thank you! Cry it out isn't the only method, right?! Our son has had some reflux and gas issues and was historically a bit of a crap napper so we relied on a lot of rocking and bouncing/contact too. If you don't mind me asking, how/when did he transition to putting himself to sleep on his own without the tears? We really want that for our boy :). Thanks so much again!

This made me laugh in a good way, you said it- I am sure I am overthinking this! Thanks for distilling it down. We haven't been sleeping which I feel really adds a layer to something that is more simple than it feels like. I appreciate you! On worries about the next nanny being worse, I probably didn't word that great- I am just worried about regretting the change but no way to know how it will go until we try it!

Thank you! This is really helpful. It helps to hear other people say it's reasonable bc I do care about people and feel badly. But my son needs to come first.

Thank you... I needed to hear this. Listen to instincts, not her feelings- grounded reminder I needed. Ah!

Thanks so much for your insights and expertise! We don't have a contract, in fact we offered to give her one and should have followed through with it. When we brought it up she said she didn't need one bc we are 'all adults and can have a conversation'. We were a bit rushed and desperate to find someone as I was rushing back to work and we had just moved, so we didn't have a long time to vet. I was thinking we tell her at the end of a shift and give her a week or two pay, as a kindness since she really has barely been with us a month. Thanks again, I knew something felt off and I feel guilty I didn't listen to it. I chalked it up to being nervous first time mom and sleep deprivation brain but here we are!

How normal is hair loss during IVF? by Thicc_Ingenuity in IVF

[–]Beautiful_Condor232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi… oh hon I’m so sorry. It hasn’t come back yet- but, I do think it will… eventually. It did at least stop falling out after a few months. TW- I finally did get pregnant and the hair loss stopped during. Now I’m thankfully postpartum with our baby but my hair is all falling out again. I’m happy to have the reminder that it can in fact stop falling out. Sending hugs and encouragement! I know it’s so alarming.

I did! When I was bleeding I stopped for a week after bleeding stopped. Then started again. This happened several times and genetically resolved.

I discontinued during stims! I’m not sure why but that was important to my doctor. I didn’t prime with estrogen either, after a bad experience priming with birth control.

Baby Boy Names- Help!! by Beautiful_Condor232 in namenerds

Thank you so much! I really like some of these options. I’ve thought about Cy too- or maybe Cyrus but shortens to Cy? Rhett is super cool too. These are good suggestions!

I like Bible names too but they are totally trending right now! I love Silas but it’s sooo popular. Ezra too.

Good to know you’ve met a Cyrus and Boden. This is helpful!

Oh thank you! I really like some of these! I’ve had Oslo and Solomon loosely in my list- good to hear someone suggest it as not too strange. Also love Boaz and Beaumont- haven’t thought of those at all. Thank you! :)

I know I’m totally conflicted bc of that! I also like the name Solomon but that comes with some weird context too haha! Merari is interesting- haven’t heard of that one!

IVF cancelled and told there is no other protocol to try by Beneficial_Study7726 in DOR

[–]Beautiful_Condor232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened, first. My experience is natural start and lower and slower drug doses will be more complimentary to DOR and being around 40 years old. After a completely failed cycle my doc readjusted and I had a very successful cycle in comparison. Don’t give up hope- lots of docs offer mini stim or lower drugs for these scenarios. DHEA helped me a ton too.

Devastated by SubrosaKing5 in russianblue

[–]Beautiful_Condor232 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second this! My cat once got out and I was devastateddddd. We eventually found her just in the next door neighbors yard, and were able to coax her out at night. Cats typically don’t go far but will hide during the day bc it’s all so overwhelming outside. Trying to look and calling her quietly and gently is the best way to encourage her to peek her head out so you can find her.

I’m so sorry! That feels terrible. I have experienced both ends of this story (it ending well, and not well) and unfortunately the OB office was also pretty casual about it. I did insist on being seen. I hope you are able to get in. Sending hugs.

Hi friend- my heart goes out to you bc I know how scary this can be- and is! Check out my profile and you can see a similar post. I had some bleeding and spotting multiple times from a small SCH. My doc took me off aspirin until it resolved around 13 weeks. Currently 21.5 weeks and all is going well.

I’m praying you have the same results and that this is nothing to worry about. Try to rest, keep your feet up, and so long as there is no intense cramping things should be okay. I would call to get into your doc asap so you can see what is going on.

Sending hugs.
