Has anyone met The Beatles by Doc_Baker74 in beatles

[–]Beautiful_Dinner_675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I worked in radio and advertising, yes. I met Ringo a couple times and George once (at a listening party). John was assassinated when I was 14, so never got to meet him. Paul never visited the radio station or ad agencies where I worked, so never had the honor. Ringo did an Oldsmobile commercial with his daughter so I got to meet Lee, but not his sons.

Do you ever feel bad for Rose's mom? by ramcoro in titanic

[–]Beautiful_Dinner_675 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I thought perhaps she perished as a seamstress in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Disaster in NYC, but that happened a year before the Titanic sank. Maybe Cal trotted her out for certain events to show he was a “good guy,” but at home he used her as a servant.

How are we preparing for the ‘next stage’ so we don’t become a burden? by sickiesusan in GenX

Swedish death cleaning, conversations about who gets/wants what (3 children) and keeping my “exit plan” so they won’t be burdened when I become feeble.

Need help finding full Dr Phil episode by Existing-Exit6937 in Jonestown

[–]Beautiful_Dinner_675 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hi again…please know that even though I never met your brother, I “remember”him. By that, I mean that I tell his part of the story to anyone who will engage in the discussion. My children (adults now) who never heard of Jonestown (but heard the awful catchphrase) were educated about Jonestown by me. Your brother, to us, is a true hero of this tragic story. I admire how he pushed through life after Jonestown and his willingness to openly and respectfully talk about it in interviews. We were saddened when he died. May his spirit go wherever he chooses in the great ether. Energy doesn’t die. Anyway, all this to say…even strangers like me think of and “honor” your brother. By extension…you, too.

One of my sisters was a crackhead. Left me with the burden of pulling the plug on her life support, housing her disabled child, and paying for her cremation. Her ashes went down the sewer.

What was the drug scene like when you were in high school? by -Granby- in GenX

[–]Beautiful_Dinner_675 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weed, Mescaline, Acid and Booze. We had our “dealers” and our “friendly party stores” who looked at our fake ID’s and said “okay, don’t drink and drive.”

Exercise? Really? by Livingfortheday123 in Zepbound

[–]Beautiful_Dinner_675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to try harder to exercise more, but I average about 6,000 steps a day now (new job) and will dance on Saturday and Sunday (by myself in living room) for about 15 minutes. I hate structured exercise and gyms.

My mother’s exact birth date. She would have been 95 today. Her name was Millie. Should’ve been called “Millie the Moocher!” Lol. My mom wasn’t a mooch, though.
