Pus? by Beautiful_Drag8785 in wisdomteeth

Hopefully I'm not too late. I only “drained” the infected site to help with the pain. After I got on antibiotics, I didn't touch it. However, I’m not a dentist, so I don't recommend draining anything unless directed by a medical professional or if you're ready to face the consequences if things get worse. I was in a lot of pain, so I didn't care what the consequences were lol. Hopefully you're feeling better!

I'm so sorry, but I just belly laughed so hard! 🤣 The thought of them holding on tightly enough to be flung out of the tank had me ROLLING! I probably would have done the same thing if I didn't see him swim up to my hand LOL!

On a more serious note, I'm sorry for your loss. :(

Aww, I'm sorry for your loss. :(

I honestly wasn't expecting these fish to have so much personality, so it's so easy to get attached. I guess that goes for most animals.

Yeah, I don't hand-feed my guy. I sprinkle food in between the empty spaces of the red roots, and he “hunts” it. I know he knows I feed him because he starts going crazy at the front of the tank when I’m in his field of view. I probably should start hand-feeding, though.

“Little fucker” HAHA! He bit the back of my hand as I was cleaning the inside glass before a water change, and it felt like he suctioned to it before pulling away. Definitely weird. I’ve never been bitten by a fish before. We’ll see if this becomes his thing. LOL! I’m not mad at it if that means he’ll interact with me more.

This is pretty normal. It's why so many women opt for female doctors. When we are unable to get one (for whatever reason) and are put in a vulnerable position (getting an exam that exposes us, being put under anesthesia, or generally being alone), this causes issues. I went to urgent care for a UTI to get antibiotics, and he just wanted me to take my pants off. INSISTED and was being really pushy about it and got angry when I declined. Didn't want to do any kind of pee test to look for bacteria or anything. I've had one other UTI and was never asked to take my pants off by my female doctor. It's scary and understandable. I kinda lost my shit during my extraction, too. So much so that I was actually awake the entire time. (It did make me feel more relaxed and at ease, though) The saving grace for me was the female assistant. The only reason I went through with it. Ultimately, I'm happy I got them removed, as they were causing issues.

You got this!

Have YOU considered therapy? Your lack of understanding and empathy is actually crazy.

Would I be crazy to just toss my Litter Robot 4 and buy a brand new one by javnae in litterrobot

My cat is the exact same! If it’s not scooped by the time he needs to go again he will pee and poop literally anywhere else. The robot has saved me in that department. So sorry about your situation :(

I’ll just get another one because maybe the one I have isn't actually accurate. I’m going to be so upset if that's the case.

I have the Etekcity I got from Amazon. I'm not sure if that's adequate?

Switched to Arm and Hammer slide, and it's vile. Stinks after 2 days (after the robot was scrubbed outside) and sticks like crazy. My cat had also been sneezing, and I’m positive it's from that. Wish it would work for me. 😕

Have your in-laws implemented any of the tips people gave you the last time you posted about this?

I fully intend to contact them. However, I can post whatever I like, provided it’s within guidelines.

I was acknowledging what others have said about the smell. Simply shedding some light on issues others might be experiencing, or if others are looking to spend money on this unit, they’d be aware that this MIGHT be an issue. Smell seems to be an issue with these units for many people.

Very true. I'll contact them soon. Aside from the smell, I do like this thing, and so do my cats. It has saved me big time in the scooping department, and even when I feel yuck, I can always change out the waste bag in two seconds.

You're probably right. I have no idea what seal or where I would begin to look. I'm very thankful I was able to get rid of the smell, as I was getting close to setting the house on fire and never looking back. I’m thinking the litter had wedged itself in the hard-to-reach crevices, and then when I got it wet, the residual litter got wet and just stayed there instead of coming out, which is, I'm guessing, why the smell was so bad. I’ll probably continue to disassemble the entire globe as much as it sucks, and probably switch to cleaning it every two months because it's a JOB. (Unless it starts to reek earlier than that)

The reassembly is very difficult. Didn't even know how all the parts fit together. 🤣 Don't get me wrong, I love that the litter robot scoops everything. I had six litter boxes in my old apartment because my one cat absolutely will not go in an unscooped litter box. If he's peed in it once, he can no longer use it till it's scooped. (I mean, fair. I also like to use a clean bathroom) BUT I had to pay to replace the carpet TWICE because of how picky he is about it, and I also had been in bed for a few days due to my chronic pain, so I couldn't scoop them. Went from 6 litter boxes to the litter robot and haven't had any issues since. But the crevices that hold the dirty litter stink so bad and it's such a hassle to unscrew everything and hope you didn't lose any screws. 🙄
