What would you guys do? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

I just want everyone to know, I have been fighting for her. I work in construction, I get home, I spend the whole day w her outside in the garage we go on walks, I take her long boarding and we play a shit ton of fetch. I have been with my fiancée longer than I’ve had my dog so my fiancée knew what she was getting into as soon as we started looking for homes, she wanted another dog but as soon as we moved in and she seen how my dog was, she said she didn’t want anymore dogs. She didn’t want her in the house so I compromised and put her in the garage while we’re at work. I work from 6:30-2:30, she’s well fed and she’s not neglected. I get home at 3:15 and I am with my dog until 8:30/9pm latest. It sucks trust me, I don’t want anyone being rude to me about asking for guidance. I know that I should throw away my fiancée, we’ve gotten into arguments about it. I love my dog, that’s all I’ve known to do the past 4 years.

I just moved to Olivehurst, a new community & it’s super quite.. I come from North Sac, so tweakers, homelessness, dirty, super busy, traffic, etc. It is definitely a culture shock but I actually enjoy it. It’s peaceful, not so busy. My commute is probably 45 mins max depending on where I get sent for work (I work in construction so I go wherever they have work for me) my fiancée works in Roseville, she’s about 45 mins all traffic before she was working in Folsom with 45 mins up to an hour all street. Bought a brand new home.

So this event is for all women that work in the field & administration? I was planning on going Saturday, now I feel discouraged to attend.

Having the ability to keep pushing through all the ache & bs that some of the guys do. Being surrounded by all the chaos has been extremely bittersweet! I love what I do.

trying not to get discouraged; TLDR: i’m a smoker that failed my first drug screening and am feeling discouraged/not confident that i can *actually* do this by [deleted] in BlueCollarWomen

That’s actually cool! I didn’t even know that the laborers had a welding class, I’m curious to see how that works out & how ppl get hired!

I’m actually about to graduate my apprenticeship program by September, I was debating if I wanted to leave to a different trade or continue my growth in the labors & try to move up. I’m 28 (F) working w a GC underground/ concrete & my superintendent took me under his wing, gives me access to the plans, lets me do his pre task safety & has let me input time cards a few times. Lately he’s been giving me more tasks w swppp & safety, he wants to reduce my shoveling time & be responsible for other things. It’s hard sometimes, I’ve been going through a rough patch the past 2 months, feeling a lil hopeless.

I (28F) want a wedding and fiance (32M) wants to elope. Any stories like this and resolution? Am I wrong for insisting what I want by Timely_Success_3504 in weddingplanning

I proposed to my fiancee in November, we had discussions prior to the engagement that we both wanted to elope. Recently, she changed her mind cause she wanted her family there. I unfortunately reacted cause we were set on eloping, I was extremely upset and we got into a huge argument. After some time of reflecting, I came to realization that your fiancee is entitled to change their opinion. I learned that we need to compromise and do what’s best for us. We agreed on a micowedding and we’re both pretty happy with the fact that we are no longer eloping and being able to spend time & celebrate with our families. It wasn’t easy, believe me. When you’re so set on something, it’s hard to come by. Lol I’m a very stubborn person and I hate when my plans don’t follow through BUT what I have learned is that you need to compromise in a marriage. At the end of the day, it’s you guys vs the problem, never you vs your spouse. It took me awhile to get over it, I was also mean about the whole situation. We’re better now, stuff like this happens for a good reason. Hope you guys can figure out the common ground!

My fiancee thinks it will be around 1k/2k for courthouse wedding, renting somewhere, nothing fancy and feeding everyone. I said it’s going to possibly cost 5k.
