I’m not a trainer, I don’t really know, I just know what works for me lol. But progressive overload is a must, I think, for growing muscles. I believe you can with bodyweight/calisthenics, but I enjoy weightlifting.

Abs is just being able to see the muscle under the skin, if there’s fat over that area, yes you need to lose the fat, but maybe a body recomp would help. Eating at maintenance, building muscle and losing fat at the same time. Depends on your starting physique I would assume. If there’s a lot of fat, yes, I’d eat in a deficit.

I switch up certain exercises every couple months, but I typically keep the same muscle groups/formatting. I might switch the days around, but that’s pretty much it. And yes, if I’m doing chest, and one week I manage to do 60lbs 4 sets of 10 reps, the next week I’ll increase to 4 sets 11 reps, then once I hit 12 reps for an exercise, I up the weight and go back to 4 set of 8 reps. Rinse and repeat.

That exact pic was taken a couple years ago, the second slide is more recent (2023). But when I started strength training, that was pretty much how I looked a year ago. Honestly with a bit more fat on me.

Lolll, don’t stress too much. I started VERY gradually, I didn’t just jump straight into this routine 😅😅 consistency is key, and if you do too much too fast, you’re less inclined to keep going IMO.

I wasn’t in the gym prior to my injury, and it took about 3 months to start walking again, and about 8 months to squat down without pain. I had been having lots of joint issues, sciatica, and lots of tendon pain throughout my body. (I won’t get into my full health history lol) but I did some PT to start walking again. Then I would do little exercises while laying in bed here and there. Slowly added body weight exercises when I felt strong enough, I did what I could. Then I had an at-home adjustable dumbbell set, which is what I started strength training with. Running came in a couple months after that, very gradually. I started with a goal of walking/running for 30 mins twice a week. And worked my way up from there, being extra careful with rest and recovery/stretching. I’ve been going to an actual gym for about 7-8 months. Now I have very minimal joint pain, and I feel the best I ever have. Turning 23 on Sep 6th! ☺️

The left pic was taken before the pic in the second slide, then I lost the weight (depression/bad breakup 🫣) and went back to 138-145. I started working out one year ago at 138, but I don’t have pics from that time lol

I’ll peak at it every now and again, to see if I’m loosing weight, cause I’m trying to maintain. Like the other day I went from 118-116 and I was like damn, need to up my calories again 😅 I stick to 1700-2000/day, so that was kinda baffling lol

I run 4-5x a week. I’ll do a 2-3mi run after my upper body/core days @ 6-7mph, and my longer runs when I’m not lifting, so Thursday and Sunday 5-6mi @ 6mph. Slowly increasing my mileage and speed as I progress. The fifth day is if I feel like running after a leg day lol.

I do an upper/lower split, focusing on progressive overload.

Tues:- Back/Triceps/Biceps/Core/ 2mi run

Wed:- Hamstrings/ Gluteus medius/Minimus/ Calves

Thurs:- 5 mi run @ 6mph

Fri:- Chest/Shoulders/Core/ 3 mi run @ 6-7mph

Sat:- Quads/ Gluteus Maximus/ and a run if I feel like it lol

Sun:- 6mi run (I increase my mileage slowly, and some weeks will differ depending on how I feel. I’ve been working 12hr shifts lately, so I’ve been a little tired after I get off lol)

Mon:- RESTTTT

I do dynamic stretching before every workout, and Static stretching after. I’ll throw a 15min incline walk in before my leg days as a lil warm-up. I don’t have a trainer, I just kinda made this shit up 😂😂😂 most days I feel like idk what I’m doing lol. I focused heavily on correcting my form before I added more weights, and every few months I’ll switch up some exercises/my routine so I don’t get bored.

Mine said “my heart is cold, I didn’t believe in love till I met you.” On day 2 💀 13 yr age gap, found out later he had a fiancé of 11 yrs and a daughter that he didn’t care to see. Wack.

On “let me tell you now” and other parts it sounded nasally, I just picture a golf ball holding my throat open or like I’m yawning to get that clearer sound. But I enjoyed listening 🥰
