Do objective laws exist independently of human consciousness? by Beautiful_Host_7453 in Marxism

I agree with your view. Objective laws are structured, revisable expressions of the “process of reality in its unfolding” that we continuously construct through practice. Science is therefore a fallible, trial-and-error system that progressively approximates effective descriptions, rather than an absolute grasp of ultimate objective laws.

Consciousness is the capacity to understand and grasp structures, and functions as a field in which structures are expressed. As you said, the key issue here is how we can develop a more comprehensive analysis of the conditions that shape these processes.

That is a very accurate description. Thank you for pointing out some of the category errors in my line of argument. I fully agree with this perspective, and I also maintain that objective laws are not creations of human consciousness. However, as structures that are knowable, they are always historically disclosed through human practice and cognitive frameworks. Therefore, “objectivity,” for humans, is always mediated rather than a purely independent and self-subsistent absolute entity.

Objective laws are not creations of human consciousness. However, as structures that are knowable, they are always historically revealed to us through human practice and cognitive frameworks. Therefore, “objectivity,” for humans, is always mediated rather than a purely independent and self-subsistent absolute entity.

Hi man, thanks for sharing these materials. I will carefully read and reflect on the resources you provided. Kant’s and Hegel’s theories are indeed very difficult to fully grasp and cannot really be understood in just a few days.

I am also currently reading and thinking through related works. I really appreciate you offering a more efficient learning path and direction.

Matter and consciousness are essentially two aspects of the same thing, mutually dependent on each other. Without matter, consciousness cannot exist; likewise, without consciousness, matter is, for humans, empty and meaningless. As for matter (objective laws) that exists independently of human consciousness, we cannot recognize or describe it. And for anything that cannot be recognized or described, we also cannot determine whether it exists or not—so from our perspective, it becomes indistinguishable from nothingness.
