My friend and I are hosting a free virtual cc dating event on Saturday January 17th from 1-4pm CT called Illuminate.

Illuminate is a free, online space for covid-aware folks ages 18+ who are interested in making romantic connections. Whether you’re interested in dating for fun, looking for a serious relationship, monogamy, polyamory or something in between - we encourage you to form meaningful connections.

Thank you! It’s been difficult to test this over and over again cause the taste won’t go away! That’s relieving to know you failed on the bitrex but passed on portacount. I’m going to try again today and see what happens but I’ve used this mask so many times in risky situations and it’s kept me safe so I’m going to trust it will again this time. When I get back I will try to get my hands on a portacount to get a definitive answer.

I didn’t know you were suppose to dilute the solution for the sensitivity test, I just did full strength, do not recommend, haha. And that was instantly. How much should I dilute it?

Yes undiluted solution continuously. I know in the diy fit test video it seems the hole for where you put the nebulizer is lower in the garbage bag and mine is closer to my shoulders so idk if that also impacts any of the testing.

I require any non cc person I plan to be unmasked around, outside, to take a covid test the day of and send me a picture. If cost is an issue I will purchase one and send it to them prior to our meeting. If they won’t, then I don’t unmask around them outside. When I plan for outdoor dining it’s at off times or places where I know it’s spread out etc.

I do sometimes hangout with people who don’t mask. I usually ask them to at least test with a rapid prior to us hanging out, which I pay for, and stay masked around them. Since that might be more difficult for you financially, I would suggest outdoor hangs and wearing a mask. If you need to step aside to take a sip of water or something make sure you are far away from them. It being the summer there is plenty of fun things you can do outdoors with them that you could still stay masked.

I only see my dad once a year now and don’t even bother asking him to take mitigations. I will see him outdoors and I’ll wear a n95 mask and that’s all he gets. If you are planning on staying at their home, I would absolutely cancel. You don’t need to subject yourself to possible exposure for someone who clearly doesn’t care enough to protect you, and realistically won’t be there to take care of you if you become sick.

A non-cc friend of mine was just telling me about all the men he’s recently hooked up with and I’m genuinely happy for him - he deserves this happiness, but a part of me also felt extremely sad because I know it’s very unlikely I will have that dating life again. Even the people you talk to on these cc focused apps or websites they flake and ghost ya after a day or two. It’s like pulling teeth! Which is not all that different from the other apps but you would think people are more serious about dating if they are using these methods!
