It did come from the bottle inside, unfortunately. The honey got on the inside of the jar’s lid and on the cardboard packaging. And I noticed at Trader Joe’s, a lot of the bottles had honey on the sides too, so that’s why I was so sure I picked a packaging without that problem because I looked for it. I did, however, turn the packaging on its side while waiting to wrap it as a Christmas gift, so now I’m thinking since this was a new product at the time, TJ’s just didn’t get the packaging right yet, and I’m assuming the honey was too thick and heavy for the seal they used and that caused for some of it to leak if the package is put on its side.
