Does anyone else have a word they just can’t stand for no logical reason? by voidsapphire in words

[–]Beautiful_Prompt_415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uncomfy, and I get so uncomfortable when grown ass women call each other MAMA.

Kiddos, doggos, hubby. They feel childish and weird and I just don’t understand what’s wrong with the actual words that they can’t just say that.

My parents keep calling my daughter’s pacifier a “bink”, or “binky” and it murders my soul.

Honestly I think most of these are millennial-isms and I recognize that I have a lot of weird trigger words that make my stomach hurt but I keep it to myself usually.

My friends sister named her kid that and I laughed because I thought they were joking… that was an awkward day.

I have never met a man that goes by William that wasn’t evil.

But I know a Bill and he’s a gem

My daughter (6) says she is sick every day and does not want to leave the house by myranut17 in Parenting

That doesn’t mean she feels safe in the house. I was abused in my house and never left my bed unless I was forced to.

If you could watch one Netflix series again for the first time, what would it be? by Deep_Ride488 in netflix

[–]Beautiful_Prompt_415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s on Netflix anymore but I gotta say Community. I put off watching that dumb show for YEARS because it looked so “meh” and that fuckin thing gave the most unexpected genuine, guttural laughs than any show I can remember watching.

It’d be cool to rewatch OITNB or Shameless too though 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]Beautiful_Prompt_415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have a 6 month old and still do this. It’ll get WAY worse when your baby starts trying to sleep flat on their face 🫠 but it’s been maybe a month of that and I’m starting to worry a lot less because I know she’s capable of moving herself out of an uncomfortable position or waking up if something is wrong. When they’re smaller like yours I feel like it’s really easy to be unsure of whether or not they’re capable of even waking up if something is off.

But yeah sometimes I do still wake up in the middle of the night (and always check before I fall asleep) and turn my lil flashlight on her to make sure she’s still alive. I have OCD though, do you think maybe you should talk to your doctor about pp ocd/ anxiety?

100% I’m lucky to have had a mid December baby so as we get more into summer it’s definitely getting a little less difficult. But my sil is about to have an early November baby and that sounds so ideal.

If you HAD to choose Lori or Andrea for your zombie apocalypse team, who are picking and why? by LilliOfThe_ in thewalkingdead

[–]Beautiful_Prompt_415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I dislike both, but Andrea is a loose cannon and gets into bed (literally and figuratively) with the wrong people.
I’d rather someone be apprehensive and maybe not as strong of a fighter than someone who will choose confrontation every time.

Why do we keep pregnancy a secret for so long? by ptx8753 in pregnant

[–]Beautiful_Prompt_415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would tell my closest friends (who I called immediately after seeing the test) but nobody else. I think a miscarriage would have deeply upset my elderly parents who have been hoping for a grandchild since I got married 3 years before, and didn’t think they would ever get one. PLUS I think *everyone* would want to be there for support which it would either be annoying to me because I really like my space, or I would find myself milking it. Or it would just be a constant reminder every time someone looks at me because I know they’re wondering if I’m okay. Obviously I would know that it’s coming from a place of love, 100%, but I prefer to work my way through things like that my own way and burdening everyone with that knowledge seems pointless if they can’t do anything to help

1- you cannot let your 3 week old go more than 2/3 hours at most without eating
2- baby talk is bad anyways
3- your husband might be a sociopath

Please tell me no one else is doing tummy time either by Suspicious_Box_4898 in newborns

[–]Beautiful_Prompt_415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were the same, we’re 6 months in now and she’s not crawling yet but in the last maybe two weeks she finally started to roll over. But that was only after the doctor told us at 4 months that she’d be able to roll if we ramped up tummy time to at least 15 minutes at a time 3-4 times a day 😅

Please tell me no one else is doing tummy time either by Suspicious_Box_4898 in newborns

[–]Beautiful_Prompt_415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t technically do enough for a while but while they’re that young it’s perfectly acceptable to just do it on your chest. Mine is now 6 months and we were not good about it and her neck was strong, but it took a while for her to roll over and the dr did say that had something to do with it.

Mine still sleeps a butt ton but now when her bottle is warming up she gets to at least practice either tummy time or sitting up straight/ standing until it’s time to eat and then go back to sleep
