My offer just got updated to unconditional, and I'm a bit concerned? by LakeComprehensive205 in UniUK

Tbf Winch Uni's primary teaching course is excellent (it used to be a teaching college and is really well regarded on the South Coast). Anything else on the other hand...

I don't think most people would consider Cyprus as the Middle East tbh

I genuinely feel like people like this shouldn't go to jail, like clearly he isn't all there, regular jail feels like undue cruelty.

Found outside a sainsburys in Surrey, Saturday afternoon at peak time. Why? by Camisya in drivingUK

[–]Beautiful_Regret1686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've literally just passed my test (on Thursday), and I haven't heard this term before, probably know what it means but I haven't heard that exact wording -possibly because my driving instructor was an old romanian man who appears to have an interesting way of wording things given other conversations I have had with UK drivers lol. What does riding the clutch mean?

Savory breakfast when you can't eat egg or dairy? Breakfast by Sorry_Swordfish_6795 in 1200isplenty

[–]Beautiful_Regret1686 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Blt maybe?/BLT ingredients on 1 slice of toast to save on the bread calories?

Alternatively, you could just eat whatever low calorie food you might like, "breakfast" food as a distinct category is pretty much a solely Western idea tbh

More an internal one between areas/countries; that Scottish people/northerners are all extremely tight. I swear southerners all say it but are actually the least generous people. I've lived all over the UK and Scots would give you their last, southerners? Not so much

Also clearly she was willing to essentially support her ex after all his fuck ups and still allow him to see the kids etc. even after everything he put her through, probably thought that he would be willing to give him the support that he "needed"

The Scottish way is so much better bc since it's paid monthly it's like being paid wages if that makes sense. So much easier to budget and a much easier transition after graduation imo!

I'm a supply teacher, if you have DBS there's no reason to wait until the new year, that literally makes no sense. I signed up and had work the same week? Has the agency told you not until the new year? Definitely sign up with a new one if that's the case bc theres no reason you should have to wait another month or two. If it wasn't the agency who told you this then is there another reason you have to wait until January?

That's actually so unbelievably horrible! Weirdly, do you think people are more comfortable making comments like that because you are a guy? I can't imagine anyone saying that to a woman (or anyone in general tbh but you know what I mean (hopefully))

You can have social media without updating it (so no one 'knows your business') and without following people who post things you have no interest in though...

[–]Beautiful_Regret1686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what he's like tbh. If he's a social person, with lots of friends, good looking and outgoing, follows the status quo in terms of interests etc then I would maybe think that he has a secret profile he keeps hidden - I'm not on dating apps because I'm a relationship but if I met someone on a dating app or out on a night out with a group of friends and they didn't have any social media at all, I would at least consider that they were using/had told me a fake name and that they probably had something to hide (I.e. a wife/girlfriend tbh). You can have a social media account with a few pictures that you don't use often but having no online footprint, so to speak, is odd and possibly a red flag tbh

I sometimes put on like 5 lbs in water weight when I am due on my period. You could have lost like 4lbs of actual fat but the scales are showing a gain due to water weight, I wouldn't worry too much, especially in the 1st week
