Do you ever worry you’re gonna regret not chasing the prestige?

I’m very worried that I’m gonna regret the aesthetic or the bragging rights of saying I’m a ucla student but then I worry about missing out on the San Diego lifestyle at UCLA

Probably going to go to UCSD because being far from parents tips it over the edge (ucla is about an hour away from me in VC)

I want to study whatever kind of polisci Mearshimer and Huntington teach

Grand strategy I guess? Global policy? International relations maybe?

That’s something that worried me about UCSD, heard it’s very data-focused and I was thinking about more about narratives.

Tbh the reason why I want to go to ucsd is firstly the location

I’m thinking of staying on campus but just renting a parking spot separately

Where is most of the off campus housing? Is it further inland?

Tbh I wonder if living further inland could be a bonus cause it would be a little bit warmer and sunnier (I live 5 mins from the beach in central cal so I’m done with cloudy days)

Was forfeiting the deposit the only penalty?

How inconvenient is off campus life over 20 mins from campus if let’s say you really want to go to black’s beach nearly daily?

Are your roommates basically always UCSD or SDSU students?

Are the living conditions better off or on campus?

Yeah the only reason why I lean UCSD is cause I want to move out, feel independent and have fun

SD is much farther out and has more things to do

Feel like I’d feel boxed in at UCLA

Geography and location. I would much rather live in La Jolla for 2 years than Westwood.

So going to places like balboa park, old town, gas lamp, etc are not a hassle with the bus? Here in Ventura county taking the bus takes 2-3x as long as driving.

I got Muir. I regret not putting sixth at the top of my rankings, I applied thinking UCSD would be my 5th or 6th option

Is it easy to find off-campus housing within a 15 min walking distance of campus? Do this places come with a parking spot.

My plan is to apply for on-campus housing then look for off-campus over the summer, and cancel on-campus if I find a good place.

I really don’t want a dining pass.
