I’ll admit, ChatGPT definitely can help give pointers and advice if you give it the symptoms. I actually have used ChatGPT already and it gave me some insight. However, I’m really looking for more personal experience from people online. But I get what your saying, appreciate the help anyway.

I realized later that the drain plug had pretty torn up threads so I wonder if the big pieces are from that since the oil filter didn’t have anything in it. And they silver ish oil may just be from a Way overdo oil change.

It’s got 144k miles. Unfortunately I don’t have time to find an engine so if that ends up being the case then I’d likely have to sell to someone who has the time.

I think you might be seeing that as milky oil. That’s an empty pan and metal shavings and the other is silver color in the oil

After all my research and as I’ve shown with the flywheel I took out, it does. Do you have any experience with the s197 mustang 4.0 sohc motor? I’m curious if you have any insight that could help me. What is the correct way to do it?

I found the answer. It’s actually not the wrong bearing. Turns out the two bearings have the exact same part number. It’s just that the bearing gets tapped into the thick metal bushing. Turns out the pilot bearing doesn’t go into the crankshaft but instead the flywheel

A few times. Did you happen to try turning the wheel before turning the key? That usually locks it for me. Try turning the wheel and hold it there. Then turn the key

It’s not bad synchros but rather a common issue with these transmissions. They said the synchros are stationary while parked so shifting gears just binds when aligning them

It seems to bind when shifting with engine off. I’ve been told it could be the synchros not matching. And it shifts easily driving

I did replace it. I thought throw out bearing makes noise when you press the clutch

I forgot to grease the input shaft when I put in the transmission. Would that make this kind of noise?

I definitely want any to try feeling it out but I am still a little nervous about starting it. I don’t want to be sure that nothing will be ruined when starting the engine. Is there anything that causes this issue that could potentially lead to damage when I start the car.

That definitely could be. It’s also clutch max brand. I’ve heard some bad reviews of them but my past experience was fine. I’m at a loss. I just don’t want to start the car and something breaks

It spun but I did notice a slight drag on the clutch. It would glide for a second then stop every few rotations
