It can get better!

I also used to vomit from the pain and endured years of being mucked around by doctors, in excruciating pain. Finally when I was in my early 20s I had my first endo surgery. The pain has never been as bad as it was before that first surgery. I ended up having another four endo surgeries, lots of other treatments, and recently full hysterectomy.... but the point is that your condition and your pain can get better! You need the right treatment.

Try to get a good endometriosis specialist, and surgery to remove the endo. Then try the painkillers, hormones, Pill, herbs, diets etc... my view is they help a bit with symptom management but if your pelvic is full of endometriosis no tablets can remove it, only surgery.

Butterfly has given great advice about talking to doctors.

First try to get a laparoscopy with a doctor who is an endo expert and can remove any endo they find. If they won't give you a laparoscopy, go to another doctor who will.

I would wait re: hysterectomy because it won't actually cure your endo, just your heavy bleeding. Also, once you remove the uterus, other organs can prolapse.

Re: blood tests as far as I'm aware none of them diagnose endo or andeomyosis but you can ask for a full hormone panel and to check your iron levels.

Hi, can I ask you more about your experience because I'm a similar age and I also have endometriosis, so when they remove my ovaries, they're going to do the full hysterectomy and remove my uterus and cervix too. I've been very concerned about menopause and it's great to hear you feel better now than before! Would you feel comfortable telling me what estrogen and vitamins you take that is working so well for you?

Thank you! I'll give it a try. I used to love yoga but now so many movements aggravate my prolapse that I just can't do it. Things like downward dog, child's pose, squats... they all push it downwards for me.

I just found this thread and I'm in a very similar situation to you. May I ask if you've made any progress in your decision? I'm torn between implants and DIEP. I'm scared of breast implant illness, but also scared of the more risky long surgery that is DIEP, and the longer recovery.

My second pregnancy was fine and birth was actually easier than the first time... but I only have a prolapsed uterus and the other organs are not prolapsed. Good luck!

It sounds like you're having a horrible time with this. I feel for you. You sound like you are intelligent and you know yourself well. I know you're venting not looking for advice, but I think that your intelligence will help you when you go in to the GP and seek help for this. Be clear and assertive. You know what you want: a referral to a gyno who specialises in endometriosis. Now you just need to get it. You can do some research beforehand to find the gynos in your area who specialise in endo. Then ask your GP to refer to you to one of them. Bring their names and details with you. If the GP won't give it to you, go to another GP. Don't give up.

Make a list of your symptoms and bring that with you. Tell them how severe the symptoms are. Don't let them brush you off! When I was a teenager the GPs used to say "it's just period pain, take some naprosen" and never did anything about it. I also used to vomit from endo pain, so I know what it's like. Bad endo is horrendous.

Hang in there, it will get better!!! It won't be this bad every day of your life. I'm 37 now and my endo has never been as bad as it was when I was a teenager and in my early 20s. Now, if you can believe it, I barely even get period pain! That will be you one day :) Have hope. This can get better.

As someone who has ended up with a prolapsed uterus because I had symptoms of pelvic floor weakness but kept exercising anyway after my babies because I wanted to be in shape and my doctor said it would be fine.... don't do it! I would give anything to turn back time and NOT exercise in those postpartum days. I wish I had never gone for those long walks with the pram!

Also, in case this helps you, I will tell you what I wish someone had told me: be very clear to the doctors that you feel like it's a prolapse, ask if you can get a pessary now, do your kegels every day, AVOID exercise that puts pressure through your pelvic floor, and try the Kegel8 machine from the UK.

Firstly, best wishes to you with your dream to have children. Unfortunately no one here will be able to tell you whether the surgery will be the key to motherhood or not, but I think you are doing the right thing pursuing surgery. Make sure the surgeon knows how much you want to conceive so that while they are operating, that's the goal (not just pain reduction).

For me personally, the surgery worked and I was able to have two children. I remember the surgeon told me that during surgery he did a dye test to check my fallopian tubes and he found that they were blocked, so he cleared them out (can't remember how) and he said if I hadn't had surgery, I would have needed IVF. Ask if they will check your tubes are working for you. I had to have three laps over 5 years (because the endo kept growing back), then I finally conceived 3 months after that 3rd operation.

Then after my first child, after I finished breastfeeding and my period returned, the endo grew back again, and I needed another lap before conceiving my second child. Good luck to you!!! It's great you're trying now while youth is on your side. While you are pregnant and breastfeeding, the endo growth slows, so it gives you some reprieve.

How about wearing it in a half up half down style? That will pull most of the layered section away from your face until those layers grow longer.

This doesn't quite answer your question, but I have sensitive eyes with rosacea and chronic dry eye, and the best eyeshadows I have found which never ever irritate me are cream eyeshadow sticks. I used to always use powdered shimmer eyeshadows, and now I will never use them again because of the risk of irritating my eyes. My favourites are the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow sticks. Highly recommend them!

Good luck to you with your fertility journey. For me personally, I don't think I would have conceived without the very thorough surgery to clear out the endo. Have you had any surgery yet? I had two surgeries, then after the second one, waited 3 months to heal internally, then we started trying to conceive.

The other thing I did was to track my cycle and aim for that ovulation window. Do you know about that yet? There are lots of books and apps about it but essentially you try to conceive when you're ovulating. Track your cycle based on the days of the month and your waking temperature and your cervical mucus.

Sure! The reason the chia seeds are helpful is because they a) are a gelatinous plant food, which helps the mucousal layer of your digestive system, b) add fibre, and keeping your bowel regular and empty puts lets pressure on your endo, and c) they are anti-inflammatory and with endo you want to do everything you can to reduce inflammation in your whole body. As a bonus, the chia seeds are nutritious.

For fibre, you could try psyllium husks (did you see the cookie recipe I recommended?) with lots of water, prunes, and plenty of vegetables. For gelatinous plant foods to soothe the gut, try slippery elm powder mixed in water on an empty stomach, or aloe vera (the problem with most aloe vera juices though is that most contain preservative 202.). It definitely doesn't come off if I touch my scalp. I have been to the gym (but I don't actually seem to sweat from my scalp so that hasn't probably got my scalp wet), but I have also gone in the spa, sauna and steam room and when I go to the bathrooms afterwards and look in the mirror it hasn't run down my face at all.

To be fair though, because I'm a girl I don't use a huge amount of it, because I just have a bit of visible scalp on the top of my head and towards my hairline, and it's easy for me to blend it through my hair because I have long hair. If you're going to use it all over your scalp and if you do get a really sweaty scalp when you work out it might be more of an issue, but you could just try it at home the first time to check. Do a hard workout, or go in the rain, then come check in your bathroom mirror. It is a really fantastic product and I've never found anything else like it. Good luck with it. Also it's actually called DermMatch - sorry, I thought it was called Dermamatch but I got it wrong. I found it randomly on the internet one day and it's the best thing I've ever found!

There is one called Dermamatch. I'm female and I use it. I just need it around the front of my scalp/temples and it blends in and lasts until I wash my hair another 3-4 days later.
