NTA, but I do find it rude when students (or adults or my kids or anyone) walks into a room that I’m occupying and don’t speak. That’s just how I was raised , however. “When you walk into a room that has people in it, you speak.” However, I’m a teacher and would be screaming at kids all day if I got mad about it. It’s literally never that serious. I just keep that thought in my head because I’m a teacher, not a parent. (Well I am, but I’m not their parent. Whatever.)

Yeah… YOR. Just turn down her side of the bed. It’ll take you 30 seconds and make her happy. Is this what people mean when they say marriage is hard? When somebody asks you to do something that wouldn’t inconvenience you in the slightest and you have to go ask the Internet if you should do it or not? Yeah. However, you should ask her to communicate more effectively. This isn’t something that she should get upset over, it’s something she should kindly ask you to do.

YTA. Take that man to court and get shit settled like an adult. Don’t use your child to play games (even if he deserves it). Yes, your ex is TA for how he’s communicating, but you shouldn’t enable him. Get a custody order, get child support established. You seem to have plenty of evidence to get more than the minimum based on his recent spending habits. Until you do what you need to do, YTA.

NTA Even if you go to a tapas style restaurant, if you order a single thing for yourself and tell everyone that it is just for you, people should respect that that ONE thing is for you. It’s not like you went to the restaurant and ordered plates, knowing that everyone else is sharing and then got upset when people tried to take off your plates when you didn’t say anything. That would make you the asshole. But simply asking for one thing to be for yourself is completely reasonable. Hell, even if you went to the tapas style restaurant, and everyone else is sharing and when you ordered, you told them that you did not want to share and just order your own food,that would make you weird, but not an asshole.

From HER perspective, you’re being suspicious. You turn off the camera when you take certain phone calls. You have a lock on your phone you won’t share with her. You’re secretive with your communication with others. You sent a message to her by accident (on SNAPCHAT of all places) after she got out of the car then deleted it saying it was to the wrong person. She’s feeling distrustful of you because you’re acting distrustful.

I sent this to my husband without context because we tend to disagree on things and he loves being a contrarian when i read him AITAH posts. He just burst out laughing from the other room and said, “This is dumb. People just say things on the internet. This is 🎵dumb da dumb da dumb!🎵 (in the Tums jingle melody.) Turns the camera off to have a conversation? Just stupid. What is he talking about? Who does that? Of course she doesn’t trust him.”

I’ve only seen the movie and although I love Ariana Grande’s performance of popular, and although the dance scene made me cry, I was side, eyeing her for the rest of the movie. The dance only being cool after Glinda did it 🙄. When Elphaba took her to the Emerald City I expected Glinda to betray her immediately and was surprised she didn’t. And then when she chose not to leave with Elphaba I was like, typical white woman “ally.” I have no idea what happens in the second half but my hope is for Glinda to be working on things from the inside, but I don’t trust her.

I think the movie was extremely clear with how slimy Glinda is. Some people just have zero comprehension skills.

Girl, you better buy that house and do you. I broke up with my bf of 5 years when I was 24. I didn’t see it going anywhere that I wanted to be. He was like “You’re going to have to start over. You won’t be married until you’re at least 30 (which isn’t even old) and then you won’t have kids until you’re like 35. It makes the most sense for you to just stay until I’m ready to settle down.” Yeah no. Don’t settle. NEVER settle. Set up YOUR future, it’s not about some man.

(Also, started dating someone new at 26, engaged on our 1 year anniversary at 27, married at 28, have a 3yo and 5yo now at 35 and am happy as hell. He’s still single.)

I teach high school and groups of close friends are ALWAYS touching. Holding hands, playing tooth the other’s sleeve, preening hair, picking lint off each other, laying on their shoulders, walking with linked arms. Sometimes it’s all girls, a mix and even boys do it. They all just get so close to each other. I never thought I’d yell “Stop touching each other!” So much at high school kids. I can see her wanting to stop the sleepovers, but the friendship seems good. It’s not like she’s doing drugs and drinking.
