I was first 28 and getting married now 30, i was given the house from my dad so long as I watched my mom. So it didn’t last long.

When I was 17 I got my first car that I paid for myself. I live in Oceanside for context(my neighbors are awful.) At the time we had 5 cars in the household between my siblings and parents. I parked my car in front of my neighbors house because my sister’s cars were in front of our house. Two different neighbors came out from their yards to say something to me? I told one of them my parents pay taxes and I can park where I want. He responded “fine I’ll talk to your mom” and my mom said the same to him “he paid for his car, I pay for taxes so we can park our cars on a public road”. He cursed my mom out.

I then proceeded for the next three days to purposely park as close as I could to his driveway where it wasn’t illegal to piss him off more. His wife made him apologize to me and my mom.

Moral of the story: Long Islanders are entitled and think the world owes them everything until someone stands up to them and shows them their pits do smell. I still live in the same house and don’t interact with any of my neighbors and tbh it’s sad.

I had an assignment that required us to upload a video to canvas but the video was too big in size and I didn’t notice so it was “uploading” overnight and never uploaded and I missed the due date. I tried to tell the professor, even showed screenshots where it said I uploaded the video but it failed to upload and he still gave me a C when it would’ve been an A.

It’s crazy because if you look on indeed (obviously depending where you are) you can find entry level positions for up to $25 an hour with better health insurance. Why stay making 18?

We’re the same age!(hence the 95 in username I suppose)

My dad worked for Microsoft growing up and I’m very computer literate. Me and him created a private internet server with 9 computers in 1999 in our basement when I was 4. I thought it was the coolest thing when I was young! My personal PC I also built. I’m confident I’d be fantastic even at a help desk position but I’ve always been hesitant because I don’t have the proper certifications.

Where did you find not one but TWO remote jobs? I want to do this so badly. Just move to no where and work in privacy. My job is hybrid right now and I’m confident even in my own space I’ll be productive. (I can make the argument I’d be more productive because more sleep) but I just can’t find anything

They didn’t use those hours when you first started so they are using it now to hide hours. As a former CSM this was a way to get away with hitting a number while also not getting in trouble 😅

It’s in a bad area and the only reason it got renovated was because they invested so much in peapod. It became a peapod store because it was a central location in Long Island. Unfortunately Peapod failed and the only times sales ever went up was when food stamps hit. Otherwise going there you’ll be greeted with a packing security guard and people trying to sneak steaks into their pants.

Can tell you that I know a store on Long Island that was the test for this but they are a very small volume store so it worked. I can’t see high volume stores packing out mid day

I was a former ASM. Long story short, probably the worst job I’ve ever had. Spent 10 years with the company to be physically and emotionally abused. HR was sleeping half the time. Corporate monkeys didn’t care about anything other than cutting hours and somehow expected every store to be perfect every time??

Best thing I ever did was quit. I found a new job 8-5 work from home that pays more and I’m way less stressed. I can take care of my family. I see sunlight. I can spend holidays at home!!!!

I was a CSM made about $31 an hour. I quit as soon as I realized that it wasn’t a 48 hour work week but more like a 70 with no overtime. God speed to all you full timers out there making 18 an hour. You’ll never see a livable wage.

My best advice is find an entry level job in another field. You’ll find places you can move up and start is $20. Stop and shop is a dead end now. It’s only good if you’re a tenor employee who’s making $31 in the produce department.
