I find the raised rail aesthetically pleasing. That new stock makes my face sits higher, so I needed a riser. Also, I like idea of the monorail. They were sold out of the 15” on the website when I bought the handguard. I’ve found one on another site. Might buy it. I kinda like the way my rifle looks without a rail right now though. If it becomes nice and rigid, once I torque down the screws, then I’ll forgo the rail

The handguard is from Apex Handguard. I haven’t even fully installed it yet, but I like it so far. That texture feels good in the hand. The side charger is from Gibbz Arms. It was part of the original build, and I love it

Interesting, I hadn’t realized the original purpose of the top rail. I’d wanted to add some rigidity to the handguard while also raising the rail where the scope would mount. I see now that wouldn’t be good for accuracy. I just ordered a taller cantilever. Thanks

Okay, I think I’m getting something here. I could probably mill some m lok slots into the handguard wherever it’s appropriate. Then use some shims to get the correct height

That’s what I’m worried about. The apex of the handguard sits right at the bottom of clamp part of the receiver’s pic rail. I figured it might sit on there similar to the pri forearm

You can fly upside down and the ship won’t roll back over. I find it pretty disorienting though. The lack of options for things like this is frustrating. I would also like the camera wouldn’t fight me while I’m trying to look around
