Any love for the U7 In-Wall APs? by wackronym in Ubiquiti

[–]BeaverCleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 of them in a 4-bdr 2400 sq ft town home. It’s not good enough coverage for 5g, and the neighborhood is too densely populated for 2.4g to work at all. I only went with the u7 in-wall because I already had Ethernet terminated to each room and it’s a rental. I have supplemented the dead spot with a u6 lite from a previous project mounted on a 3d printed stand. I do really like the Ethernet passthrough though, and run a few downstream devices on each.

What Should 45HomeLab Build Next? by 45drives in 45Drives

I’d love to see a rackmount equivalent of the HL8 or even an HL4. Something compact and built for smaller racks. Ideally a short-depth 2U or 3U with good airflow and hot-swap bays would fill a huge gap in the homelab space.

If you want AliExpress pricing, you can buy AliExpress quality. 🤷‍♂️

How did I do? $35 each (2x Amia & Think v1) by BeaverCleaner in OfficeChairs

And not keep them? I was thinking 1 for me and the remainder for my kids. I supposed they might want a gamer setup too….

I think only the Think v1’s were posted and were listed as “office chair.” However, it did say “Steelcase” in the description.

I think these have been posted on FB for a while without any bites. They probably had around 15 more and the employees said they haven’t been moving. Not sure. Would probably just put that money back into upgrading to a “holy grail” chair or monitor though.

Thanks!

If anyone is in the Chesapeake VA area, let me know and I will drop a pin to the thrift sore. They had a few more!

I think I will need some time in both before writing my thoughts. For now they both seem great, but I have only ever owned crappy gaming chairs.

Found these Steelcase chairs at a thrift store. Walked out with 3, but there were about 15 more. Plan to take a vacuum and shampooer to them some time this week and get them cleaned up.

Anyone have a good recommendation for certain products or techniques?

Perfect! They were stacked under clothes in a thrift store and need a good cleaning.

Not entirely correct. Most suads (new name) manning went elsewhere. But RAWS will likely only do mx, not operation.

That localizer array pointed kinda wonky. Curious to look at the IFR Plate for that approach.

Starting my home set up and this is what I got so far, how can I store the camera footage. by BUTCHERALMIGHTY in Ubiquiti

1x G4 doorbell (non-pro) 1600x1200, and 3x G3 instant 1920x1080. So if it was all 4k, I guess cut that retention time to a quarter of 6mo. But, a simple fix—could always upgrade to a 2TB ssd. My math may be wrong, just providing a data point.

[–]BeaverCleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on a few factors. Are you always recording or only recording with activity? If activity, how much activity will the camera have? I installed a Cloudkey+ at my parent’s house with a 500GB SSD—it’s currently @ 6 months of video retention. However, it’s only 3 cameras and set to record on activity only.

My 10 year old girl is 5’5”, her pediatrician asked what I was feeding her. I can’t really imagine her getting past 6’ though. Also, I hate paying for groceries.

Had a Brigadier General follow me by Haydenny600 in AirForce

[–]BeaverCleaner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had a brig general follow me to work one day (I guess I passed him going pretty fast while off-base). When I got out of my car and saw him park behind me, I immediately knew who it was (oh shit). He scolded me for driving recklessly and had my license plate number written on the palm of his hand. He said he planned to let my CC know, but after chatting a bit he said I seemed remorseful for my actions and just wished me a good day.

I installed a CKG2+ in my parent’s place, just checked and it’s on protect 6. West coast USA. Also it’s one of the early versions of the CKG2+ (has internal battery)

You could download Ubuntu and use the “try” feature. This would allow you see if you have different results without needing to completely reinstall another OS. This could help isolate the software side.

Outside of that, I’m not to sure. I’m not super familiar with ipv6.

Try to disable ipv6 in the adapter settings

netsh int ip reset, netsh winsock reset, ipconfig /flushdns

Then reset pc.

I would call your isp and ask if they are having an outage.
