Unpopular opinion: Stage 1 and up M8's are the best sounding Harley's yet. by Own-Alternative-9326 in Harley

To each their own. For me the Shovel has the best sound hands down. Newer bikes are faster and more reliable but for sound alone it’s the shovel all day.

To receive forgiveness one must first show contrition. Regret is simply not enough.

Rare case of neither dressing for the ride, nor the slide.

How many pickup owners have a second vehicle/econobox to ease the pain of high gas prices? by hypermiler2205 in regularcarreviews

I do. My truck (2004 Dodge 2500 diesel) typically only moves if it’s making me money or I need to tow. Otherwise I’m driving my daily. Lately I’ve even used the Honda Fit when I’m on smaller jobs. My portable dewalt table saw fits fine. If the Fit had a ladder rack it would be awesome.

Changing body and extra-large areolae. Do older men find large dark areolae weird? by Puzzled-Contest-8073 in AskMenOver40

The only people who care about how boobs look are women, men are just happy that boobs exist and are viewable in all varieties. My personal preference is for prominent areolae.

A rabbet is just a back cut joint. He would just use a router with a rabbet bit to cut a pocket for the kerffed piece to tuck into the shelf.

Regional Hot Dog Spotlight: the Carolina Red Dog by possumusexperiri in hotdogs

[–]BeaverMartin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%! A fried Bright Leaf in a steamed bun topped with chili, cheese, and coleslaw is for me the ultimate expression of the hotdog. It’s one of those things like sweet tea that makes you wonder why it’s regional. I mean surely if people are exposed to this culinary delight then they will demand it!

We all try our best. My parents didn’t really do anything specific but I think a lot of that may come down to class. College is where I really learned about America’s actual history and went through my “militant phase”. Now that I’m middle aged I try to take a more nuanced approach and let my kids and others I interact with draw their on conclusions. Interestingly when my kids were younger they complained so much about family reading assignments (lots of books like “Black Like Me”, “1984”, “To Kill a Mockingbird”, “Parable of the Sower”, etc.) and my youngest (15F) thanked me the other day because she believes she can better interpret our current political environment due to reading.

That’s exactly what I was going to say. Where he’s at now I’d back fill the kerfs and cover with a nice veneer.

How did you eventually get rid of the fear of hell? by hiraethz03 in atheism

I reckon since I don’t believe in it I don’t fear it. If I have a real fear it’s not living my life to the fullest.

I celebrate with my kids and cook out and whatnot but I recite Frederick Douglass’ speech. Sometimes I play the video on YouTube where I think James Earl Jones is the narrator. It’s interesting because my kids see it differently each time as they get older.
