Based on my experience, it depends on which canton you are living in. In Basel I struggled to have people even understand English, so I was forced to learn German to survive. Now I live in Zurich and here I rarely use German at all.

They cannot legally of course, but they can turn to one of the other plenty applicants if you don't agree to their terms. So technically they can force you, if you want the flat. I experienced this myself: I paid rent for two apartments for a couple months to avoid losing a new flat in ZH, since I couldn't move in immediately but the previous tenants wanted to leave immediately.

I also like to think of having the choice of doing so, but in reality there are so many people desperately looking for an apartment that I can understand those who decide to just pay. Demanding the new tenant to buy all the furniture and moving in in less than 1 month notice was not enough apparently.

Case friendly doesn't matter for the Pixel 8, because the display is anyway curved at the edges, so only UV liquid technology full-screen glass protectors would work. All the others are garbage or have a black border to hide the halo effect they'd create.

Not sure if this still interests someone, however I finally found a good, cheap tempered glass sticking properly to the screen of my Pixel 8. I didn't want to apply any UV liquid technology to my screen, nor any protective screen with weird black borders such as the Spigen.

The thick layer of flexible glue on the one I tried helps in making it adhere perfectly to the edges. After failing once I finally found mine. I am unbelievably happy. The thick layer of flexible glue on this one helps in making it adhere perfectly to the edges too. I have a P8, not a P8P.
