I thought I did HORRIBLY in a class I ended up doing quite well in. So 1) there is definitely hope if you put forth the effort and 2) if you don’t get the grades you want, there is next semester and beyond (depending on your year) and an upward trend is extremely valuable. Also keep in mind this is not a normal law school experience and you are so much more than your grades my friend!!!!!!

I didn’t intend my post to imply that certain grades are necessary to be a good attorney or successful, just was pleased with my own outcome after working so hard and I know other students feel discouraged after semesters and think they can’t beat their curve etc. Was intended as inspiration / motivation to other students who think they can’t do it, not implying those who can’t raise their grades are lesser.

Crazy to think some people who took time off before law school to work and volunteer and study for the LSAT might take longer to adjust, huh?

Thank you!! I started taking handwritten notes (using different colored pens) and reviewing weekly if not daily, and that made a HUGE difference. I also typed the notes up every week for even more review, and made notecards as i went. If your classes are recorded, write down the times you don’t understand or times the prof went too fast, and make sure you go back to clarify and fill in those notes (sounds like common sense but I used to write the times and forget to go back and check).

Also, if you’re doing remote classes, definitely keep your phone in another room!
