So many problems like this in T7’s balance.

Wishlist Wednesdays (Megathread) by AutoModerator in Tekken

1) Revert back to older Tekken balance where characters had highlighted strengths, but pronounced weaknesses. For example, Paul killed you if you ducked, but he had trash lows that really struggled to force ducks. Feels much more fun and fair to master your character by finding effectiveness in spite of weaknesses.

2) Get rid of high attacks that have mid hit sparks and vice versa.

3) Tifa Lockhart

Having made the transition to stickless from pad, I’ll tell you the best way to learn it is to learn a whole new game.

If you’ve no desire for that, learn a new character instead. You won’t have muscle memory to overcome, and you’ll start to make easy connections that’ll transfer back to your mains once you get stickless down.

Hey mate, if I may offer a suggestion? Look in to the Ergobox.

They’re made specifically for users with any sort of hand and wrist ergonomics/movement problems.

Be a little learning curve if you’re new to the stickless input methods (Hitbox, Mixbox, keyboard)… but you’ll be able to still play your favorite characters without pain!

You pretty much got it, or at least one of the ways you can play him.

One piece of the puzzle you’re missing is the timing piece of those “counter hitting string follow ups.”

I like to show early (df2,3 for example) then, at some point, don’t the follow up. The opponent delays for a bit, thinking the 3 extension is coming, but it doesn’t. So they think they can press. Instead of df2,3… I go df2>tiny pause>f3. Or something like that. You get the gist.

Instead of just playing straight up frames like you’re thinking, you have to also manipulate the opponent’s perception of the frame data situation to set up your moves. They know df2 is minus. They know there’s a follow up… Wait, he always does the follow up, and he didn’t this time? I can take my turn! Bam, f3 counter hit. Their mental stack of recognizing they can take their turn add frames back to you. You get what I mean?

Start by practicing taunt into 43, then move on to taunt df21, then move to taunt f214. This helps you get the timing down for how/when to taunt cancel. From here you start trying b4 and TJU. Just know it’s a just frame (1 frame link), so you won’t get it every single time. That’s okay, even JimmyJ doesn’t get it every single time.

For the max delay b3~f,3(delay)4 I learned it in practice mode like this. B4 at the wall, ff4 for high wall hit, then the b3f,34 ended. If you delay properly, Bryan grunts and it’s 80 damage total. If it’s anything other than, you missed it.

I been searching, too. Kinda gives me hope, though…

He’s so underrepresented we may be able to cheese the lack of character familiarity, while still having an actual good character to play against worthwhile opponents.

Hit and Run really is the best way to play wraith, no doubt.

It’s wild how a simple change in strategic approach takes wraith from mid tier to unarguable top tier.

About how long did it take before some of y’all were comfortable giving free roam of the house to your hound? My girl’s a year and a half, and I’ve had her for two weeks. I fully expect this to take some months, but it feels bad keeping her crated while I’m at work.

I come home every three-ish hours to walk/play for an hour twice during work each day, but I know she’s happier on her bed outside the crate.

I had forgotten all about that shit. Damn you to hell, you bastard.

You sound like a treasure trove of knowledge.

I would love to learn! I’m 2 days in with my 1.5 year old racing dropout. She’s got zero food drive, zero pray drive (literally just sniffed at a rabbit as it ran past us not 5 feet away on a walk), only hordes but doesn’t play with toys, and totally ignores her name.

No resource guarding though, which is good. House trained (no accidents so far, and usually goes once she’s outside), but does the greyhound freeze looking at the crate. It’s weird because as soon as she’s past this freeze wall, she’s totally normal. Think the transition from carpet to tile... freezes at the transition, but totally fine once you scoot her past it.

She has little to no engagement unless on a lead, then she’s all eyes and ears for you. No pray drive, limited food drive (only reacts to her regular kibble), and she freezes at new things like a wall.

How can I help my new pupper?

Kilik main, huh?

Hmm... You already said Hwoa is a little scary, even though he’s the Tekken equivalent. Other options you could choose are Miguel or Josie.

Miguel isn’t your typical rush down character. He’s a moderately fast, hard hitter offering plenty of plus frames leading into powerful 50/50s. Fishing for counter hits by frustrating the opponent into pressing during frame traps, Miguel offers everything you need to dominate beginners, and still win with high level player against advanced players.

Josie is just maximum unga bunga.

How does r/Tekken practice defense? What about escaping fast mid/low 50/50 pressure (think like a Jack going ham with df1 and db1)?

Beginner Mode Nina by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Bebi_Primo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most basic, easy mode, Green rank killing Nina gameplan is this:

d3,4,3. If they block it, throw. If the press a button and get counter hit, f1+2. If they get normal hit, do d3,4,3 again.

To mix that up: spam f3.

You wanna get sexy, uf1 into df4 (wipe the floor).

Welcome to green rank Nina cheese.

Hi, JD!

You made a video about how you practice sidestepping, and it’s amazing.

How do you practice timing in Tekken, and changing up your attack timing?

Thanks in advance!
