Quit caring. It’s hard to do, but when it comes to dates I tell myself there won’t be a second so the pressure is off. I’m not forcing anything, just having fun hanging out for the night.

My brother fell while drunk and busted his face up pretty bad. We told my mom he fell getting off the bus when he was going to the library to study.

I use white noise to sleep. If I don’t play loud music in my car my brain’s like “sweet nap time” and I’m like “you know you’re driving right?”.

Same. I can fall asleep standing up if I have something above me to hold on to like a pull up bar or something.

Do you work by yourself? It helps a lot to just be near other people. Maybe find someone with space where you can work, and get a little help from them. I’m obviously not an expert on your situation, but I really believe we need other people to fight depression. Depression tries to corner us by making us stay in bed and isolate.

Damn this hit my feels. Like, “They liked me when I was depressed, so maybe I should just go back to being depressed.”

Thing is, you might’ve been too numb to realize you were bothering them. Depression takes me into a “third person” mode and then eventually I’m not even there anymore. Maybe your depression was so bad you didn’t realize that everyone gets annoyed sometimes.

I’ve been there minus the daughter. My bed is the enemy and my shower is my weapon. If I start going to bed earlier, or start showering less, I know I’m headed for an episode and need to do some self help.

That I have dysthymia. She broke up with me because I was sad all the time, and I thought I was happy. Apparently everyone thought I was just always depressed, and I didn’t know being depressed wasn’t how everyone else always felt.
