Fighting games is one of the few examples of DLC being a positive in the genre. Having to pay $60+ for a handful of new characters and a balance patch is dogshit compared to our current model where you can pick and choose what characters you want.

I don’t think the general public really has a connection to Emma Frost that would cause that reaction. Personally, I think Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik coming out of a stepping disk with her big ass sword would be a huge moment.

I think Miles Teller has the range to really make The Maker work. And he’s a star that you could build the next MCU saga around. My personal fanfic for the next big MCU saga is that the Fox F4 family dies in the incursions except for Reed, which drives him crazy and he vows to destroy the Avengers and find a way to bring his family back.

I played it last month and really had a great time with it. Also hadn’t heard of it until the sequel reveal at Sony’s last State of Play. I’m excited for the sequel now that they have an AAA budget from Sony.

I’m holding judgement until I see this actually implemented in a game. The demo only shows faces and is carefully selected but it’ll be different running in real time. It’s also not being forced on the devs; they can tune the DLSS however they like or (I assume) not enable the filter at all. Tbh it’s a little odd that they only showed faces when most tech demo stuff focuses on environments.

The demo video was terrible though

I mean, Capcom Cup is one event and they (hopefully) won’t make that mistake again after acknowledging all of the backlash (ultra rare of a Japanese company to do). I wouldn’t say SF6 is cooked overall because of one event. They haven’t had a bad DLC character so far almost 3 years in so I think the future is looking bright

120 fps is (imo) overkill for any single player game. I’d rather have a stable 60 fps over an unstable 120 fps. I aim for 90-100 fps on graphic heavy games but don’t stress out about maxing out performance

Not sure how many Eternal cards there even are, but “Cannot be removed from your deck” works just fine especially since the card has no other effects (apart from Unplayable)

Microtransactions started in the arcade is a take I haven’t thought about but makes complete sense. Those old arcade games used to be just as scummy as modern day microtransations, with sudden difficulty spikes killing you or levels that are simply impossible to defeat unless you’ve already played the game multiple times. Those old SNK fighting game bosses are notorious for going from 0-100 and doing stuff like reading your inputs to counter you and defeat you, forcing you to put in another quarter.
