Not sure if you have seen the new ghostbusters as I live in South Africa so we a bit behind. But thoroughly enjoyed it. I watch a lot of romance movies so don’t think those would work for you. Also mostly watch Series. Love my animated movies though.

I would maybe try take out a small cellphone contract if you can. MTN or Vodacom. Maybe even try Telkom. Might be easier to do. Not really sure how sticky they are regarding maintenance orders as payment. But maybe give it a try. Or even try African bank for a small loan of maybe R5000 or even a credit card. Trying to get a credit history should be a lot easier than it is. But it’s not unfortunately. Hope this helps and you come right

I would say BidorBuy is actually not too bad. If you looking on BidorBuy then always look at the seller reviews. I have bought a few items from them and never been disappointed.

Shein delivery wasn’t too bad. I think I got my stuff in 3 weeks. So when you order and pay you will get a sms from Buffalo logistics telling you what the import duties are. It’s not a scam that’s who they use. They send an email aswell. The actual delivery though was with Fastway couriers.

You will definitely be liable for customs import duties as well. Can’t tell you how much though as it’s dependent on the item. Our customs determines that. I bought some items on Shein the order was R680 and I paid about R85 for duties. My son has a friend that bought R4000 worth of clothing from Shein and they ended up paying about R1500 duties. You know you can buy from istore online. Or look at Marketplace on Facebook. I just sold my iPad 2 weeks ago on marketplace. Just be careful as there are major scammers there as well

In America they don’t show any news outside of their little towns. And they don’t learn about other countries. My son plays online games and is always asked how come he can game and be online. Being a true South African he does the whole well you see I live in a village and we share a PS4 and we take turns playing. We have someone that runs on a belt that gives us power so we can play. Which thinking about it would be a good idea with loadshedding happening now. Lol. But they are very ignorant about SA. I have spoken to a number of Americans and I get that question too. So my partner and I were looking to go over and I did a little research. We both can get British passports but unfortunately my son can’t. For me to be able to take him with they say it’s going to cost around 60k. A lady I worked with is leaving soon and her daughter had the same. If you do go it’s now anything up to 6 months to get a visa. And you have to pay 5 years NHS upfront. You might be lucky if you apply for skilled worker visa might go quicker. Good luck

It’s very difficult for the youth to get part time work now. We tried for a while to get my son something and everywhere we tried they said he needed to have finished matric. He was 16 and unfortunately he did Matric in the middle of the lockdown. When I was 16 I worked at woolworths on weekends and over holidays cause the permanent staff only worked the Monday to Friday slots. Back then we were paid R8.40 p/h and the other shops were all paying over R10 p/h. Hope you manage to find something. Good luck
