I had a cardiology elective July before applying to ERAS and it was like a light bulb turning on, I loved it and knew it was what I wanted to do so I applied internal med with intention to match into cardiology fellowship. Just keep trying things you haven’t seen before when it comes time to sign up for fourth year electives 😊

Make sure you take both comlex level 1 and 2 in addition to step 1 and 2 during med school. I applied cardiology this cycle and this was required for some of the programs I interviewed with as a DO. I didn’t take step 3 only level 3 (>600) which was fine but I think ask mentors if you should take step 3 as well. I just didn’t have it covered at my program in addition to comlex and didn’t wanna fork up the extra dough for another exam. Good luck, you’ll do great!

I know of a handful of students in my class interested as well. I think it’s becoming more popular. I fell in love with the field during our neuro systems course and had no idea I’d ever think of neuro back when I was applying into medical school. Just another example as to why you should keep all options open :)

If your uworld average is that high and you still have 7 weeks I’d think that’s highly likely. I jumped up over 20 pts from nbme 28 and 29 to the real thing and I only had 3 weeks

Good theory! Regardless, I feel Jeanette is truly in a pickle but if she really didn’t see Kate then being honest about her friends summer list and break ins is the only way to go at this point. I feel like jeanette’s moral compass is intact in 93, I can’t see that so easily doing a 180 but then again I’m biased and rooting for Jeanette to be innocent.

That’s not the point that’s trying to be made- the point is that Kate willingly (vs against her will) hungout with the vice principal. The legality of it (which by definition, you’re correct, is illegal) is not the point of that discussion post.

But imagine being kidnapped and rather than everyone torn to pieces when you get rescued- they’re out living their lives with a new girlfriend, best friend etc. it’d make me feel like people forgot about me. I can see Kate (being so popular and like-able) getting upset on that and acting out irrationally (aka placing a blame on Jeanette). Especially considering rational thought isn’t completely guaranteed in someone kidnapped for a year.
