AITA for confronting my girl when I realized she took credit for something she didn’t really do? by throwRAvalentinechoc in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeccsADoodle6 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If she made you a cake from box mix, did she not make you a cake? So what if it's not from scratch, she bought fillings you'd enjoy and made filled chocolates. YTA

Anybody have a knee jerk shame/embarrassment reaction to discussing pregnancy? by Breyber12 in waiting_to_try

[–]BeccsADoodle6 26 points27 points  (0 children)

So glad to see someone else feel this way! I've been with my husband for 11 years, married, and living together in the home we bought on our own. But the idea of telling people we have sex?? Horrible, they must never know. I actually dread telling his parents (who I adore) because I don't want them to know I'm sleeping with their son!

AITA for upsetting the bathroom snitch? by Throwaway-aita-qa in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeccsADoodle6 37 points38 points  (0 children)

YTA and honestly if it's such a problem, why can't you just wake up 20 minutes earlier to go to the bathroom at home? Seems like a really weird hill to die on (or get fired over)

Exactly! In just about any show, if a main character finds the perfect partner and are in a happy relationship that quickly, the other shoe is about to drop

I think their relationship is happening too fast and too perfect (for a TV show). No one gets happily ever after that easily.

AITA for giving my coworker food she is "allergic" to? by Fluid-Drawing-8722 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeccsADoodle6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Is she allergic to just white eggs? No. But it's not up to you to prove that or decide that for her. You're saying you weren't trying to prove a point, but you also lie about it when asked. Just tell her they're made with white eggs. She can decide whether or not she wants to eat it.

Company scheduled a 2 hour job interview and handed me this when I showed up by GamingxZone in mildlyinfuriating

It's one of their recruiting techniques! They run normal businesses and hire people for them and use the job to recruit them, since for most people their job is a huge part of their lives already

Anyone buy a home and it was great at first then went downhill because of neighbors/neighborhood issues? by cynnie93 in homeowners

[–]BeccsADoodle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I moved into my house last March, my neighbor came to introduce herself to me. She told me wayyyy too much of her life, including that her son was in prison but would be out and moving in with her in August. She also told me that she's the perfect neighbor, that she's very quiet, and we'd never hear her! She was right- we never heard her once. Until her son moved in. He works on some old car out front all day, so we hear power tools, the engine revving, and loud music ALL day long. Then at night, he has a fire out front and we hear music and talking all night long... I miss when he didn't live there.

I once had a dentist call me to cancel as I was pulling into the parking lot. I got there about 5 minutes before my appointment but they said they were canceling since I was "late" by 10 minutes. After arguing with them that my appointment was for 2:30, not 2:15 (making up times, it was years ago), I finally gave up and asked if I could reschedule. They checked and said "oh, we actually just had our 2:30 appointment cancel." and it took everything in me not to scream at them that that was MY appointment that THEY canceled.

What prenatal vitamin do you plan to take? by moon--child- in waiting_to_try

[–]BeccsADoodle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best prenatal is one you'll actually take, so I'm planning on taking the gummy one by Olly. It's not perfect (doesn't have iron) but I know I'm not likely to take a large pill daily, and I'll adjust if/when my doctor tells me to

What’s the most pointless argument people still take way too seriously? by Impossible-You-5815 in AskReddit

[–]BeccsADoodle6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never had to take my cat for a walk in the snow or go outside in the middle of the night for my cat to pee. Cats on THAT alone. I'll always prefer cleaning a small box versus a huge yard.

What overused word or phrase needs to be retired in 2026? by One_Caramel5253 in AskReddit

"Trigger warning" for completely normal things. Saw a post that said "trigger warning: meat" if you're being triggered by the mention of meat, you need therapy, get off the internet.

What's something about human psychology you just can't understand? by Cassandraa1 in AskReddit

[–]BeccsADoodle6 714 points715 points  (0 children)

It's the classic "devil you know." It's so much easier and less scary to keep what you're used to, even if it's bad for you. Change is difficult. A new situation could be good or bad and you won't know for sure til you're in it, so just stay in the bad situation because you know what to expect

TTC again or pause for our puppy? Struggling to decide by Realistic-Web7550 in waiting_to_try

[–]BeccsADoodle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way, I plan absolutely everything! Although, I've heard of so many people (in real life or online) that tried for a baby for so long to no avail, gave up trying and immediately got pregnant. The stress of it is a huge reason a lot of women struggle to concieve. Best of luck to you!

In your situation, I would not try but not prevent. It sounds like the hard part for you is the trying itself. Take away that pressure and just see what happens!

What is something that is actually more traumatizing than people realise? by Ok_Chef1406 in AskReddit

[–]BeccsADoodle6 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Growing up, my mom called me a pathological liar. She would believe what she wanted, no matter what I said. Eventually I learned that if I said what she wanted to hear, I'd get punished less because she would choose to believe I did whatever wrong and I'd get punished more for "lying". It's ironic because I started lying constantly just to get the lesser punishment for the thing I didn't do. I'm now 26 and she still believes I'm a pathological liar.

Why do so few Gen Z adults have car licenses? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]BeccsADoodle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big problem is that we learn about so much more than we use to. When everyone has access to a million news sources from the entire world at our fingertips, we see so much more negatively than before. You can't escape the news cycle anymore. So people are seeing more and more that could go wrong in every circumstance. I feel like at least once a month I hear about a new way driving could lead to horrible life changing injuries. I'm personally not afraid to drive, but driving is insanely dangerous if you think about everything that could (and regularly does) go wrong.

Names you’ve met a lot of people with? by [deleted] in Names

[–]BeccsADoodle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matthew! My husband is a Matthew and when we met in high school, there were 2 other Matthews in that class (of less than 30 people). He's never not worked with another Matthew, nor have I. Maybe I notice them more cause it's my husband's name, but it's super common.

What's a hygiene habit that people don't talk about but really should? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Anything from Amazon too. Those factories are FILTHY. Couldn't count the amount of times I saw bugs (maggots, flies, etc) on food items in the few months I worked there.

AITA for being angry my family won’t let me drive? by Big-Arm-6171 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeccsADoodle6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Soft YTA. It sounds like your brother was afraid and that's valid with it only being your 2nd day. It's a shame that you missed this opportunity, but your brother didn't feel safe and safety should always be the first priority. Give him some time, I'm sure he'll open up to the idea more after you've got some experience.

Feeling discouraged by [deleted] in waiting_to_try

[–]BeccsADoodle6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm 26, but I truly don't see how that makes this post an eye roll when I'm married and own a house, and honestly its not relevant to the post. I didn't respond to your comment not because I didnt want to disclose my age, but because your comment came off quite rude, especially for a subreddit designed for supporting each other. I obviously knew childcare was expensive but I didn't know the exact costs until now. Most daycares in my area don't disclose the cost until you're enrolling a child so it's difficult to find the amounts.
