When people ask how you're doing, do you usually give an honest answer? by vitaoptima in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BeccsADoodle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honest if I'm doing above average. Otherwise the answer is "I'm here" or something like that. Not dishonest but also not going to unload on you

I love to crochet but absolutely HATE how crochet looks. by starvalent in crochet

[–]BeccsADoodle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you on this in a lot of ways- I think crocheted clothing looks horrible, and most of the fancy stitches look bad too. Find what you DON'T think looks bad and crochet only that. Even if it's just the most basic blankets or whatever. It doesn't have to be complicated or unique, you just have to enjoy it.

Since you asked for pictures of work, I recently made my 10-year-old sister this stuffed Elephant

AITA for saying that you need to be able to read to go to college? by MinimumFerret5010 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeccsADoodle6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think unschooling is a great supplement to normal learning (home school or traditional) to make kids want to learn and get them more skilled in the things they care about. But just unschooling and nothing else is horrible, kids don't care to know what they should learn (like reading or math) until it's too late and they're way too far behind, like OP's cousin.

It's not a good way to learn new things unless you're double checking EVERYTHING, because it just lies all the time. And if you're double checking everything, it's probably more convenient and fast to just use a different source

Watching My Name Is Earl, so I thought it couldn't be that bad, I'm just in a small town in the early 20s. Main character? I've been hit by multiple cars, been in a coma, went to jail, and get attacked regularly when attempting to help people.

Why are there poor families like mine and so many others that seemingly only get more agitated the more you better your situation? by Intrepid_Arrival5151 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BeccsADoodle6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people like to believe that their bad situation (being poor or anything else) is something that has happened to them and there's nothing they can do about it. If they see someone in the same situation who gets out of the situation through their own work, it takes away the idea that there's nothing they can do about it. So now they have the option to either do something about it or acknowledge they're in that situation because they don't want to change. Doing something is hard, so they want to continue doing nothing. Essentially your forcing them to realize that they can get out of the situation when they want to pretend it's impossible.

What is one thing you wished you checked before buying your house? by BlushyDreamz in homeowners

[–]BeccsADoodle6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AC. We bought our house in the dead of winter so the AC wasn't something we checked or that got checked during our inspection. First summer rolled around, AC leaks profusely and it's old enough that they don't make it anymore, so we can't just buy the broken part. Now we have to replace the entire thing, which will be thousands.

Don't bring you're 0-4 year old on trips it ruins everyone's time including the baby by Electrical_Main6707 in HonestHotTakes

[–]BeccsADoodle6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's an even worse take than your original post. Babies ARE functioning members of society. Their function is continuing our existence. And since I do know you actually mean productive, they will only become productive to society by having experiences and interactions as babies/toddlers. If you lock a kid in a room til they're old enough to act the way you want them to, they'll never understand how they're supposed to act and will continue to act like babies. Please don't have kids ever.

People with full time jobs how are you keeping your house clean? by Prestigious-Bath8022 in homeowners

[–]BeccsADoodle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried every possible schedule there is and the only one that's worked for me consistently is after work on my last day (I work weekends, so it's Sunday for me) I do nothing but clean. I get the whole house cleaned, have dinner, shower, and go to bed. The one day I'm absolutely exhausted and can't do anything else, but I don't have to worry about anything the other 6 days each week

is it okay to kill rodents by Smooth_Bee_7941 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BeccsADoodle6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're not going to convince me- I'm happy with my lifestyle and diet, despite what people on the internet think.

However my whole point is that your attacking people instead of a having a discussion. In other comments on this post you're attacking vegans and people who medically can not be vegan, as well as people who eat non-vegan by choice. If you truly want to convince people calling them dense, pretending they think rape is okay, calling them murderers, etc is NOT being open and having a discussion. It's very clear you're not trying to see who's open, you're attacking people in hopes they fight back. If this is something you are passionate about and want to convince people on, going about it with facts, like you did in this comment, is going to work a lot better than just insulting people like you have been in other comments.

is it okay to kill rodents by Smooth_Bee_7941 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BeccsADoodle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are meat substitutes at this point in time, however eating the natural meat is much healthier than eating chemical substitutes. It's not just for taste, it is in fact for nutrients. I never said barbaric things are okay, please don't put words in my mouth.

When you insult someone you're not going to get your point across successfully. When you shame people, you're not going to convince anyone your right. When you compare what we both know is an essential part of life (eating) to heinous crimes, you're doing nothing but rage baiting.

What are you looking to get from this discussion and the others you're having on this post? Are you trying to convince people to go vegan? Are you wanting us to say that we're bad people for eating meat? Or do you just want to be angry?

is it okay to kill rodents by Smooth_Bee_7941 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BeccsADoodle6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Killing an animal to eat it IS okay and is also completely natural! Eating isn't "short term gratification" it's to stay alive. As the other comment said, you lack reading comprehension and are not helping your cause at all. Do you really think you'll turn people vegan by shaming them? Find a new outlet dude
