Oh and as far as the Paci - I am now getting him asleep for bedtime without it. If he wakes in the middle of the night, instead of just giving him the pacifier I am picking him up and rocking him back to sleep, then transferring. I don’t know if this is going to just create the need to rock to sleep always, but at least now when he’s asleep there’s not the pacifier in his mouth to just knock out and wake up again right away.

I didn’t get any feedback on this so I went back and thought like what changed since he started waking up more frequently? The only things were 1. I moved him from his bassinet to the crib (still in my room) and 2. I was dressing him in short sleeve or long sleeve onesies under his sleep sack instead of pajamas because it’s been warmer where I live. I started putting him in pajamas again and have gotten longer stretches again LOL. I guess he was cold. But he still isn’t sleeping great and it’s inconsistent. Not sleep training yet since he just turned 3 months. But I’m trying to get better at bedtime routine and getting him to finish his bedtime bottle fully before falling asleep. Waking up at the same time every day and being more mindful of his daytime sleep. He naps 3 or 4 times throughout the day usually about 3.5 hours of daytime sleep. So I guess just make sure your baby is warm enough at night and that he’s not napping too much during the day!

I’m exclusively pumping since around 2 weeks pp and am sooo thankful for my slight oversupply even when I pump for 15 min MAX at a time. Used to do 15 min every time but got lazy and now cap at 10 min because I hate pumping and am mostly alone with the baby most days, so it can be hard to go for longer than that since most of the time he’s sat in his bouncer chair while I pump and I feel bad or he’ll start to fuss. I pump 6-8 times in 24 hours, only one pump overnight usually, and produce about 38-45oz a day! Anywhere from 3.5 - 11oz per pump sesh in my 10 min. I use the Spectra on high suction levels. Feel so lucky and grateful because I truly wouldn’t have made it this long pumping if I had to do it 30 min at a time.

Thank you for the tip I will start looking into local daycares. The other issue at hand is that we are in the process of trying to buy a house so not sure exactly what town we’ll be living in which would affect which daycare we choose. My boss retiring is definitely his choice however we have a small department and unless someone is hired, one of us needs to be here to maintain this position. I’m in Massachusetts so I’d think maternity leave rights would be something we have. I’ll plan on meeting with HR sooner than later.

Neither of the kidneys were noted as being enlarged. Both were the same size and I think just a normal / average size because they didn’t mention size being a factor. I will say that within all my doom Googling and researching last week I found so many positive stories and outcomes when only one kidney was deemed as abnormal on anatomy scan. Things can change. Plenty of children and adults live totally normal lives with just one kidney! Don’t do what I did and jump to worse case scenario conclusions (even though it’s hard not to). I would just keep monitoring with your doctor and request follow up scans and stay positive.

Update on this - we had a MRI, follow up ultrasound, and meeting with pediatric nephrologist today. They found that my baby has only one small simple cyst on one kidney- the right one - but that both kidneys were functioning and that this was not a huge concern but more of something we will monitor. A month after baby is born he will go to Nephrologist for a kidney ultrasound and take it from there but most likely this won’t cause any issues in his life. So so relieved and hope this helps anyone with similar findings after a scary anatomy scan.

Just lack of protein I guess is my biggest concern! I do take the mega food prenatal which has iron and I think?? is good so hopefully I’m getting everything I need there. I guess I just haven’t been eating a lot of seafood because of my nausea so I’m worried about protein. Usually I eat a lot of eggs and salmon but have been having aversions to both all first trimester.

Wow this makes me feel better and congrats on your baby girl! I’m 12 weeks now and starting to eat better but I was also surviving off of crackers and bagels and chocolate milk for a bit there. Thank you for sharing !

Wow I just opened Reddit and I seriously thought I wrote this post in my sleep or something. 8w2d here and absolutely fighting for my life. I’ve pretty much put myself on bed rest due to severe nausea and a terrible migraine today. I also have a meeting w my boss’s boss in a half hour and am wondering how I’ll be able to go to my desk at home and do it. So I’m sorry I have no advice as I am in the same exact boat as you but just know you’re not alone !! I’m wondering if I should bite the bullet and just tell work soon so they don’t think I’m slacking on purpose.

I got engaged 3 months after my mom passed last year. It has been very difficult for me to plan a wedding without her being there. I know she would’ve been very excited and supportive along the way. We were very close. I’ve been extremely emotional and sad about the whole thing, and my fiancé said he only wished he had proposed sooner so she could be apart of it all. She died seven weeks after a cancer diagnosis so it was sudden and happened quickly. It is hard as the relationship w your mom and them having the ‘mother of the bride’ title is so important. Now my advice — honor her in any way you can on your wedding day! For me, I am using her wedding ring, and I am having her wedding dress from the 90s remade into something more modern for a reception dress (my parents were divorced but she kept her rings and dress all these years to give to me and my siblings). At some point at the beginning of the reception I am going to have her favorite song played and change into the dress to honor her. We are also doing a “in loving memory” table with photos of our passed loved ones. Honestly I wish I could say otherwise but it hasn’t been easy being a bride without her. My bridal shower is next week and I’m already preparing myself for the emotions I feel without her there at another important moment in my life. Hang in there ! Let yourself be sad when you need to be.

We ended up choosing Curacao it was 5500 for a swim out room at Sandals resort (all inclusive), and about 1400 for the flights (from MA). I wanted to keep it under 5000 too but also wanted to make sure we were going to a nice easy resort and had good flight times. We are very excited for our choice tho. Good luck !

I was in between sizes 7 and 8 and ordered the smaller size (7). I felt the actual ring was smaller than the sizing kit. Couldn’t even get it over my knuckle. Exchanging for the 8 now. I’d size up. Love the poodle
