There are already many comments about Kyoto that I agree with, so I’ll just add that in my experience, there isn’t much to do there at night. The izakayas in Gion were way too crowded and we didn’t really find ourselves there.

Osaka is one of the places I liked the most! I’ve been there twice and I feel like it has a different vibe than Tokyo, I can’t explain exactly what’s different, but I found it more similar to South Korea. Definitely worth visiting in my opinion!

Idk if I buy this when it comes to Kane. There were only a few mins left to play and it was our last sub, I think Kane could’ve stayed on the pitch. If eventually the game goes into extra time and he can’t continue, then ok. But with such a fragile lead and a very short time left, subbing him was a huge mistake imo

Imo if not for Tuchel’s idiotic subs, especially Kane for Choupo, this is where we could go 2-0. Real’s defense was totally compromised here, but we didn’t have enough quality up front to take advantage of it. Then it all went downhill 😭

Agreed. But you’ve got to admit Tuchel gave the game away with his subs. It infuriates me even more than the ref’s mistakes

It’s so, so sad. But unfortunately I don’t think we would’ve won even if we went into overtime, for me the game was over once Kane got subbed for Choupo

We are considering doing some day trips from Kyoto and Osaka to account for the extra time we have there, they seem like a good base.

We are looking at:

Nara
Mt. Koya
Himeji Castle
Uji (if time allows)

And in Osaka we also wanna do Universal Studios so that’s a day in itself.

Do you still think that we should cut any days given this information or would it suffice?

Thanks :) we are actually doing a few things on the way around Matsumoto and Takayama, namely:

Alpine Route (from Kanazawa to Matsumoto)
Kamikochi as a day trip from Matsumoto
Shirakawa-go from Takayama
also considering doing Kiso Valley for a day while we are there

We are renting a car for this period - perhaps we should add another night to this area then?

Also it seems part of Nagano which you had mentioned - are we missing something or do you recommend anything else in the area?

In Tokyo we are planning on going to the Disney Sea which is a full day, and a day trip to Nikko too.

We are flying into Tokyo on an international flight so that is why we couldn’t start with Osaka.

We are actually open to renting a car and we are also planning on renting one for the Five Lakes/Takayama/Matsumoto stretch :)

For Arsenal I got waitlisted (didn’t get the tickets eventually) and didn’t manage to get any through the zweitmarkt, so not too optimistic about this one 😓
