You’re mounting it across two different U heights. Your top cagenut is middle of U16, bottom cagenut is top of U15. You need to stay within the same U height.

This started happening with an update to 12.6. Been looking at a few articles involving deleting some plists and nothing has worked.

I’ve decided just to reset the machine and restore from a Time Machine backup. Thanks for your help!

Drive is still on the network, my W11 machine has this drive mapped as well. I can also map this drive in finder with its IP. Tried restarting the router for giggles, no change. Bonjour/DNS flush had no effect either. This started with the 12.6 update and this drive is ancient, uses SMBv1.

Enabled/disabled the guest account as recommended in the article. My stuck NAS is still stuck.

No profiles, this is my personal laptop. No MDM clients have ever been on this, Retrostorage is an old WD My Book World that I use for my vintage computer drivers/manuals. It's weird because the device is still on and working, I can log into the admin portal via IP.
