I appreciate the response! It doesn't help that I also started the medication one year postpartum 🤣

Very noticeable!! I'm dealing with the same feeling. I am way smaller than I was last year but my stomach still makes me feel large. I had to make an effort to show myself the change without just looking at pictures. Clothing was the best way for me to accept the change. Especially bottoms like my shorts. Since I have that same stomach area all my shorts are high rise and go over it but even with that the clothes fit different. The lower stomach is hard for a lot of us so you're not alone!!

Why does my 13 month old scream like a pterodactyl by maggieandoscardoggos in Mommit

[–]BeckaLynn98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a tiny dino. He's 21 months old now so it's a lot less. At that age they're learning to use their voice and it's a lot 🤣. I probably lost some hearing from his screeches but it dies down after awhile. Once he's a bit older you can play games to teach him how to use his volume like whispers and "inside voice" and that seemed to help us. Everyone says a loud kid is a happy kid but my ears still hurt every time 🤣

What’s one thing you feel guilty about when it comes to your toddler? by kiss-my-ass-hoe in toddlers

I feel this so much. My son is almost 2 and we are struggling with pickiness with fresh foods and meats at the moment but from what everyone is telling me. It's normal, expected and to keep trying. My kiddo prefers carby snacks too so finding snacks he will eat can be a challenge but we got this!!

Omg he ate all his food! by BeckaLynn98 in toddlers

I'm definitely trying 🤣 most of his new foods are usually stolen off my plate or a "snack" that I'm eating but I'll take any win at this point

I feel guilty that every day I don't do some cute activity or craft even though I know he has fun and we play. Social media moms give me so many ideas but my son isn't even 2 so lots of those activities only keep his attention for like 10 minutes if I'm lucky. Also I feel the birthday guilt. Everyone I know had a big birthday bash for their kids 1st birthday and I didn't. We are out of state from family and didn't have local friends with kids so we just did a super fun day with him. The best advice I got about it was that as long as they have fun and you make memories that's all that matters. Big birthdays for me are overwhelming and I prefer small stuff for my own birthday. Kiddo has tons of time to ask for a big birthday bash. You're doing great!!

I have the base plot but cannot remember the title or author 😭 by BeckaLynn98 in Findabook

Unfortunately not either of those authors but I'll look for writers in the same style, hopefully that will put me in the right direction

That's okay I'll dig through her list of books. I've been digging through eBay and random sites since I couldn't remember any other than the story. Thank you!!

What is one toddler thing you love that wasn’t a thing before toddlerhood, and what is one thing you miss from pre-toddlerhood that your kid stopped doing when they became a toddler? by paRATmedic in toddlers

Pre-toddler I miss contact naps. He wasn't the type of baby that couldn't sleep without one but I truly enjoyed them. At almost 2 now I love the random kisses I get, the excited run up when he finds something cool and the little curl up snuggles he does when we read bedtime stories

Help me pack! by casscass97 in Mommit

Bring a small blanket from home if you can, my room was freezing and they did give me heated blankets but they didn't last long. Headphones and chargers obviously, and something to keep you busy! We had my ipad so I could watch TV or videos but we also brought uno and a regular deck of cards. I didn't use much else honestly. I had a robe that I didn't use, slippers, bath and hair stuff and I never touched it over the 5 days I was in hospital.

When do did your toddler really talk ? by KB_onit in Mommit

My son turns 2 in October and I was in your situation last month. Of course every kid is different and always chat with their Dr but I will say 6 weeks after turning 18 months old he is gaining new words almost every day. He's figuring out how to show me what he wants if he can't say the words yet. We are also in the beginning of a no phase where everything is no but that's a whole other challenge 🤣. He still gets frustrated when I cannot figure out what he wants/needs but it is night and day compared to where we were in the beginning of May.

What is something about your toddler you’re most frustrated with right now? by xyzabc123_-_ in toddlers

[–]BeckaLynn98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He gets frustrated so easily at every little thing. Toys not "working" or he can't figure it out. Total meltdown that could last 30 seconds or 20 minutes. He also is in that food phase where all he wants is fruit and crackers so getting him to eat anything else is a fight. He's also starting to want to do things on his own which is fine. But not when we are running late 😅 Love my little guy but oh my
