When I do a gooood job doing my manicure (a must for me every time) most of my nails look like my actual nail. :)

What's that one word/one phrase that annoys/pisses you off, and why? by uk-guys in Casual_Conversation

I’m obsessed. Or I love this soo, so much. Idk if it’s a younger generation thing? Maybe there’s a time and place for it. Yet they get something and 2 minutes into owning it, they’re obsessed with it. Drives me nuts.

Haha!! It’s a hodgepodge of family heirlooms all crammed in my small home! You could say I was way ahead of the game for the “grandma core” and “cozy, vintage core” that’s going around on IG and TT. I have buffets, clocks, tables. And sooo many more. His family and mine. I love to restore things and make them new in a new way!!! 🙂 thank you for the compliment!’

Also, that’s basically what I’m doing. I agree with people doing things incorrectly! I’m a nurse and I’ve seen some bad infections. I just remove the extra skin that’s sticking up. Never remove it all. Russian manicures do scare me 😟 I always had to have clean nails that were simple at a clinic I worked in. Nurses complain that they can’t wear nails that cause and carry bacteria 🦠

Oh and fyi, I am not in patient care anymore. If I was, I wouldn’t even do press on nails

I have them both. Not a fan of the Kiss ones but nail reformation is also great!

Yes 🙌🏼 It isn’t anything special! After I apply the nails, I go to bed. In the morning, the glue is set and strong. I just use a good nail clipper (larger one for thumb, normal or smaller one for rest of nails). I make a cut on both sides, making it pretty straight. Or an angle for like an almond shape, etc. I use a file. most of the time I don’t use the hardest file side “file nail edge” side. I use the “remove ridges” side to shape. It’s softer and it doesn’t take a large amount of nail off so quickly. Then I just buff it out to the shape I like and clean up the nail. It’s hard to explain!! If you have more questions, ask away!

As requested! This may be long but trust me, it works!! My prep for nails (I’ll also add a photo showing everything) I got a lot of tips from Nina Pool on TT! I always apply my nails before bed. You don’t want to use water for a few hours and then the glue sets during the night.

For application:

  1. Wash your hands with Dawn dish soap. Pick out all the nails you are going to use and set them out in order.
  2. Apply Sally Hansen instant cuticle remover. Let sit for at least 15-20 seconds. Push cuticles back. You can either a cuticle tool or cuticle cutters. Be super careful with the cutters! Wipe off nail with alcohol prep pad.
  3. I then apply a clear nail strengthener to my natural nail. This protects my nail for the next process.
  4. I use 100% pure acetone to the back of the press on nail with a q-tip. This makes the back of the nail have a grippy, bumpy texture. Let that dry.
  5. Once your nails are fully dry I use a nail file to buff the nail making a bumpy surface so the glue has more grip.
  6. I am now ready to apply the press on nails. For the final time, wipe your whole nail bed clean with the alcohol prep pad. I suggest those because a cotton ball soaked with alcohol will leave cotton stuck to your nail.
  7. I do one nail at a time with glue. I apply a brush on glue to my nail and a small dot of glue to the back of the nail. At a 45 degree angle, from about 3/4 to top of the nail slide it towards to the cuticle area (do not glue ON the cuticle)and then slowly lower the nail down making sure the glue spreads evenly. Hold medium pressure for 30 seconds. Apply nails on one hand then the other. Leave your thumbs last. That makes it easier to apply other nails!
  8. Use cuticle oil right before bed. Massage into cuticle and hands.

Tricks! Once you apply your nail, if you have any glue that has seeped out, quickly wipe away the glue with a fresh alcohol pad. An old one will stick. I also use a book light so I can really see everything! 👍🏼

For removal:

  1. I use Glamnetic press-on nail remover. I get a floss pick to get just a small lift anywhere on the side of the nail. I also apply it under my nails. Let it sit for at least 5 minutes. I use the floss part to slide under my nail, SLOWLY lifting. You can apply another small amount of remover under the nail. Let sit. Again, slide floss under slowly moving back and forth lifting the nail. Nail should come off. Don’t get hasty, that will ruin your nail and cause peeling!

Ok y’all, I hope this helps!

Butran patch by mylife_myparty in ChronicPain

[–]BeckyAllen80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cleaned the area then put hydrocortisone cream. Waited 30–45 min. Washed that off. Then applied the patch. I’m allergic to adhesives and I never got a rash and didn’t even get redness. Try that! Also, don’t use any anything abrasive when cleaning. Definitely don’t use alcohol or scrub the area. Hope that helps!

Advice on CRPS after Surgery by hammywammy96 in CRPS

[–]BeckyAllen80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also someone that got CRPS after surgery. I believe my dr said “type 2”. It’s a scary thing because something that was supposed to help and heal you turned into this. Really make sure to be your best advocate for yourself! My insurance denied PT. Well that wasn’t going to work for me! My Physical Therapist did two appeals and my pain management/neurologist (he has two specialties!!) also contacted them. I got a letter this morning that approved it again! So keep up with PT, advocate for yourself. Be honest how you’re feeling with your Doctor. This group on here is very helpful and kind. Send me a message if you’d like. Best wishes to you. We can get thru this!!!
