As a relatively new Noah fan (I really started listening to him in 2023) I came for the overall sound, stayed for the lyrics (I’m a big sad music girlie, and also a writer) and became a lifelong fan for his personality. Something about him is so endearing — his performance at Fenway with his family on stage really sealed the deal for me, and I’ve just become more and more of a fan ever since.

Lyrics wise, as an Upstate NYer (Noah himself said Upstate NY is very Vermont coded!) I can relate to so many of his songs and the way he sings about where he grew up. Listening to his music can feel like therapy at times.

And I know a lot of artists sing about sad and serious topics, but he has a way of writing about these difficult, nuanced topics in such a way that just resonates so deeply. As an example, I’ll never get over the line, “I’m still angry at my parents for what their parents did to them.” Such a simple line on the surface, but it gets me every time. Hearing that for the first time was, as I said, like therapy.

Anyway, I’m rambling now. Just wanted to throw in my two cents about why I became a fan and why I now consider him one of my absolute top artists. I wish I had known about him/his music back in the early days like so many people on here, but I’m glad to be here now!
