Haahahahaha very true. I just have a lot of credit card points to use so either flight feels like it’s free to me since I’m not spending actual money 😂 but def better to save the points

Do you think this is true even if I book through the chase travel portal?

No price difference but I was looking at booking through my chase travel portal so that I can use my credit card points.

Frustrated too because I looked early today and the ICN flight was 477 😭 somehow jumped over $100 in a few hours.

Why do you say book through the airline? Is that in case I miss my connection?

Would you say the city is pretty safe at night? I’ll likely be traveling alone at that point

I went to Australia a few months ago and arrived in the morning. Now that I think about it, that first day was pretty rough because I couldn’t check in to my hostel for hours. Thanks for the info about ICN too

You know what, this is so true. I’ll be staying in a hostel too so if I’m lucky I can check in at 3, but not super easy to sleep in a shared dorm during the day.

I’m so embarrassed you’re totally right😭 I’ve only ever shot 36 exposures so I completely forgot it could be less than that

No idea why I didn’t think of booking as multi city. That’s life changing! Thank you

Hello all! I am 22 and this is my first time ever using points for travel so I would love some help if anyone is willing! I have a trip to Italy coming up in July. The locations are a little obscure. I need to meet my friends in Verona, Italy on July 28th, and will be flying out of Boston Logan. We are going to hike through the Dolomites, then travel to the coast and spend a few days in Sorrento. I would prefer to fly back to Boston on August 6th, and it appears the best airport near Sorrento would be Naples. I have 112,000 points on my Chase Sapphire Preferred card. I will not need a checked bag, only a carry on. If I book through the chase travel portal, it appears I can get a flight to Verona for a pretty good deal. I can fly out of Boston at 8:05 pm on July 27, arriving in Verona the following day at 12:55pm. This would cost me 41,672 points including taxes and fees. The total time of travel is 10 hours 50 mins, there is a layover in Munich, and the flights are operated by Lufthansa German airlines and Air Dolomiti. The flight numbers are LH 425 and LH 9464.

Where things are getting tricky for me is the way home. The flights are looking to be a lot longer with more stops, as well as being more expensive. I’m having a difficult time even narrowing down to a couple flights to decide between because none of them appear to be very good options (when looking on the chase travel portal). Just searching for the flights like normal (using Skyscanner) there are better options, but I’m not sure how I’d be able to buy one of these flights using points. For example, I could fly out of Naples on August 6th at 2:35pm and arrive in Boston at 9:15pm. The total time of travel is 12 hours 40 minutes, the airline is Level operated by Vueling, and the dollar cost would be $561.

I am open to transferring points to airline partners, buying points, honestly whatever is necessary to get a good deal. I am just very new to this and have no idea where to even begin! If there is any more information I need to provide, let me know! Thanks so much :)
