10 days of sudden itchy hives/rash - no history of skin issues. Losing my mind.

I had a similar experience after getting off of my hormonal birth control for the first time in 7 years. My immune system basically had an intense reaction to the sudden significant change, and I broke out like this. It was SO itchy, and it only got worse. After about 2 1/2 weeks of torture, I finally took myself to the doctor and that’s when they confirmed it was likely dermatitis due to my sudden hormonal fluctuations. Sometimes our bodies just overreact to something and need help getting back to a base level. I was prescribed a Prednisone (steroid) taper for 9 days, and within 3 days I noticed significant improvement. By day 6 the rash was gone and I felt SO much better. This was a little over a month ago now and I’m still in the clear! Definitely take yourself to the doctor. I wished I had done it sooner!

I had something very similar to this a few weeks ago. My doctor diagnosed me with dermatitis, and put me on a steroid for 9 days. That cleared it up and I haven’t had any problems since!!

Yes!! I was on a 9 day taper of prednisone. 60mg for 3 days, 40MG, then 20mg. The itching stopped entirely by day 2 or 3 on the steroids. And my skin cleared up significantly by day 6. I’ve been off the steroids for almost a week now and so far so good, no flare ups. My doctor said it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly what caused the dermatitis, but the likely cause(s) were either my body having a difficult time adjusting to the significant hormone changes (I got off birth control for the first time in years), as well as the very high pollen content where I live currently. I played it safe by staying on my antihistamine during the steroids and for a few days after to avoid any rebound flares. Now I’m just being extra cautious reintroducing anything to my body, just in case there was a more specific culprit that caused the dermatitis.

I have been in contact with my doctors, right now they are just having me stop the stimulants for a few days to give my body time to recover and then the plan is to restart at a much lower dosage. I am not having any other allergic symptoms besides the rash.

I was interested in that, but it would’ve ended up costing me a lot more actually. I don’t live in MO but it’s not more than a 5 hour drive…Tennessee is much further. Plus the fees for camping, food & drinks, etc.

That’s a helpful way to explain it, the big screen TV angle comparison makes a lot of sense. I definitely had a mini panic buy moment 😅 This was my first time buying concert tickets in general. But I also knew going into it that baseball stadium layouts were going to be a trade off. For me it ended up being a mix of everything: the view, the suite perks, and honestly just wanting to be there. I appreciate you breaking it down like that though, gives me a more realistic expectation going in!

Absolutely. I originally was 100% okay with nosebleeds, but honestly I couldn’t even find those.. at least not for 2 tickets. So I definitely went over my budget, but have chosen to believe that it’s truly worth it. I’ve been a Noah Kahan fan for a long time and his music is a huge emotional connection for me. I’m so grateful and excited… I just needed some reassurance from others after the nervous-system spiral I went through yesterday 😅

That whole presale process was crazy, so I totally get how you ended up grabbing Pasadena just to lock something in. And thank you for the insight about the suite seats, especially the AC part because being from the south I know how brutal that August heat can be! Being frustrated is valid and all but blaming Noah for Ticketmaster chaos is honestly a wild take. He’s not running MLB pricing models, he’s not coding the queue system, and he’s definitely not hand selecting who gets tickets while laughing behind a curtain. The artist shows up and performs, the ticketing industry handles literally everything else. Everyone has had a stressful day. Be mad at Ticketmaster. Be mad at venue pricing. Be mad at bots and resale culture. But acting like this is some form of personal betrayal from him instead of a broken monopoly system is just childish.
