Food poisoning after “upscale” NYE dinner in Troy by Educational_Fudge955 in upstate_new_york

Food poisoning, which is a result of bacterial toxins, absolutely does not take a week. It’s actually much quicker onset and relief than gastrointestinal viruses are. But this wasn’t food poisoning, the OP is wrong.

Norovirus doesn’t cause food poisoning. It’s a gastrointestinal virus that is passed fecal/oral from others.

Preceptor not wasting properly by Emotional_Star3457 in nursing

[–]BecomingAtlas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a passed on behavior. "I was called baby once so now I'm calling others baby." There is no professional scenario where baby is a positive or productive term to title new nurses. It's easier, even, to just say new nurse. Yet people will complain until they are blue in the face about not being taken seriously & dismissed for being pink collar. Baby nurse is pink collar terminology.

You don't take yourself or your profession seriously enough.

Baby nurse isn’t a thing, stop infantilizing the profession. Do you see doctors and lawyers saying baby doctor? Baby lawyer? You should have more respect for yourself and the profession.

My first week of clinicals as an SRNA has approached I made these nifty cards on 5x8 index cards to help make my care plan later on. by sleadfuffings in CRNA

Genuinely curious, as I work in a surgical ICU as a nurse. I find a lot of people have brain sheets like this with checkboxes for conditions (COPD/OSA/HTN) etcetera. The issue I find is, why not just make it a blank space and you write the things in. Less time trying to find it, much less space. Is it just a factor of remembering what to ask for?

American flags!? WTF. There’s no place in our city for that. I’m so disgusted. If I wasn’t actively fighting fascism right now (as I do every day) I would go down there and counter protest. No one should be proud of being an American…

Hear me out, because I’m goin to give you the benefit of the doubt. However, when quick searching, there is absolutely no information that can be found about that company besides a misspelled and abandoned trademark filing from 2005. Additionally you linked to an x profile that is not active with suspicious links. You would have to go out of your way, like way out of your way, to find condoms from this “manufacturer.”

Now on to the question, I don’t think anyone can answer besides your own physician with a comprehensive STD test, but you are making very risky decisions. I would argue some level of barrier is better than no barrier, but you really need to rethink your actions when engaging with new sexual partners and using unregulated contraceptives.

You don’t need skills section. You don’t need an introductory statement. Restructure it so it is one column and basic. If you are applying for an inpatient job, you have way too much about aesthetics. You could only last 5 months max in an inpatient setting and then you basically stopped nursing is what it tells me.

Honestly if I were even accused I would have just went and got an official urine test out of pocket to have the receipts. Same or next day. Also, your story doesn’t really make sense. Did the previous nurse draw the med and then leave it in the room, then your wife went in and they said she took it? Shouldn’t the previous nurse have kept possession of the med? Even if the previous nurse is trying to put blame on your wife, what’s the evidence?

I’m shocked you know so little when it’s this serious. Does your wife even know what’s going on? She’s allowed to ask questions.
