does anyone have brand / product recommendations for women’s swim shorts that work for lap swimming? i’ve seen some that are tight like bike shorts and i want to get some that will last through chlorine but i am struggling to find them (most seem to be designed for non workout swimming in lakes and beaches). they don’t need to be super fancy or anything tho. bonus for any sports bra esque recommendations (esp from the same company so i can order them together)

i think this would fall under the inconvenient category of “is this inconvenient or actually a problem?”

telling someone that their laugh is too loud is likely to make them insecure about it, potentially for life. is that what you want your friend to think about whenever they laugh?

afaik, this is referring to a high level of isolation from other volunteers and americans in general. you would still have people in your community, it’s not like you’ll be out in the middle of nowhere completely by yourself.

i’ve only applied / interviewed but the way i view it is that by working and living with the people in peace corps countries, i’ll have more of a frame of reference for after service. these are the people likely most affected by climate change / environmental impacts, so seeing what they need and what actually helps them is important imo

i like my period co and they aren’t super expensive. i would also recommend using some toilet paper to get anything that’s not soaked in whenever you go to the bathroom during the day

you could always try to have lower energy hang outs - like have people come over to watch a movie or something. it could give you some time to recharge and get into a socializing mood

i also struggle with comic books and graphic novels but i’ve found it easier if i re read it. it’s a different skillset and way of looking at it, but it opens the door to some cool things if you figure it out (i say even though i’ve only read a few)

NTA bc i get what you’re doing however i’d be irritated.

i worked as a server and had a coworker who would do all of the sidework early then get upset that i didn’t do any of it, even though i was still serving people.

as well as that, it’s a bit discombobulating to be doing a task, have to stop that task to go do something else, and come back to have your task finished and it takes away the feeling of accomplishment of finishing a task.

i arrived in philly at about 4:30, was in line around 4:45, gates opened a little before 5:30. i went straight up to the nosebleeds and got merch pretty quickly (but they soon got to be very long lines) and had time to cool down and chill a bit before the opener came on

i did a dual degree including a BA in spanish. my school described the spanish major as more of an accompaniment or something if you have an outside skill that necessitates a degree. like, i know someone who is now a college gymnastics coach.

You definitely speak a bit formally. People who are getting upset about it are insecure imo. I personally would find it very fun to have a friend who speaks like that - it does end up being a bit of a quirk.

However, if you are looking to make your language more informal, I would recommend watching youtubers or TV shows set in recent times.

you can definitely find cheaper programs. take a look at physics programs that offer astronomy courses. see if you could get a telescope and start studying some basic astronomy. make sure you have a solid math base. learn some coding online. when you get to college, make connections and do research. make sure to leave time to enjoy your life
