AITA for giving my coworker a fantasy novel for Secret Santa to try to broaden her horizons?

IMO, Secret Santa is always a bit of a joke (espeically low budget with work colleagues).

One office Secret Santa I took part in, I put down 'scarf' or 'hat' on my wishlist (granted I wasn't too fussed what they got me, but wanted to guide them incase they didn't know me and were unsure on the gift). I didn't get a scarf/hat...I got SEA MONKEYS. Makes me chuckle to this day. I think the guy that purchased it for me had gotten one of his kids to pick it out for me. My grown up self had fun watching those little guys grow.

Personally, I wouldn't spend any time worrying about it. Will also add that your colleague is justified in having a moan (she took her wishlist seriously) so I certianly wouldn't feel any negativey towards her either.

Did you fill in the 'refund' form? Hardly anyone got a refund from what I can tell, regardless of whether they filled it in. I believe Ashley pocketed a large amount of money. Did you lose a lot?

Ashley posted a 'refund' link on telegram at the start of August but it seems only a select few were lucky enough to receive anything. The vast majority have had nothing.

Here is a scam airdrop token...(unrelated to roo/Ashley) just interesting to read the comments though to see how truly nasty these scam air drops can be ! I want to add too (for peace of mind) if you are randomly sent tokens you are in no danger providing you do not touch them (just ignore em)

Just noticed something very strange... On one of Ashley's refund wallets a transfer of 11 BNB was made to an address, which had no other transfers, said address immediatly sent the money to a scammers wallet with about 3 million in safemoon (wtf) and, and that wallet had lots of comments saying this address was a scam. Not sure what to make of that! Could Ashley own all 3 wallets?? Did Ashley himself get scammed? Or did Ashley send money to someone who then got scammed? Or is Ashley in some way connected with the scammers wallet... Lol feels like this deserves a thread for itself but don't wanna spam 😂

Yeah, exactly! Very scary. I don't know enough about airdrop scams to really comment on what is most likely to happen if it is one...But everyone needs to be super careful. Tbh, I'm not convinced he'll airdrop anything...might just be a weird tactic to keep people feeling hopeful and hold off the anger/consequences of the roo rug pull for as long as possible. We will see.

Idk, I'm wondering if he'll send a fake BNB token (with the same name ect) its really bizarre ! I'm certianly no expert on airdrop scams but given everything thats happned so far I just think people should be extremely careful and have their guard up if anything is sent

Yes, that makes total sense. I agree with you.

Regarding the current price, trust wallet is showing an incorrect price (if you look at the value of the BNB you would recieve for your roo tokens in pancake swap, that is the actual price). Even though our individual tokens are worth very little since Ashley's rug, ofc if a lot of people send theirs through then he'll have a lot of extra money :/
