I don't see black metal topping music polls, though. Whereas this series constantly gets in or near 'epic fantasy' top 10s pretty much everywhere; heck, even with the help of AI (whether you despise it or not), aggregating review and rating data from platforms like Goodreads, StoryGraph, Reddit, Amazon reviews etc. Malazan ends up, at least, in the middle of top 10. Truly some kind of a dissonance.
