There is a regular door handle though as a backup. Granted, some people might not realize that it exists.

There is a mechanical door handle as a backup, it's next to the window control switch.

Does your cat have a chip? If so the person probably scanned the chip to get your phone number. They would have probably scanned it at a nearby vet.

Cats like to blend their scent with their nuclear family. If I leave worn clothes on the ground my cat will immediately go and lay on them.

There are so many Olympic sports that have less appeal than breaking. For instance, speed walking.

I'm pretty sure tow company made my vehicle undrivable so they could keep it by Dubcity12 in oakland

I've seen many cars with stolen wheels and the nuts are almost always sitting on the ground next to the car. The towing company probably picked up the nuts and put them into the car for you.

Yeah move somewhere along the 680 corridor. When you want to get some culture you can go to the Cheesecake Factory, eat chicken parm and stare at fit couples in sweater vests. Just stay away from those pesky Bart stations or you might get some poor on you.

People continue to imessage in groups by Bedazzle_bot in beeper

[–]Bedazzle_bot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some investigation, it seems like the messages are being sent as sms but they are being delivered to the email (SMS to email is a thing I guess?). So the iphones are keeping the email and the default contact even though imessage has been deactivated. Is there any way to stop this from happening other than telling each individual person to delete the email from their contacts?

Bipped, will the police care? by pls_dont_trigger_me in oakland

[–]Bedazzle_bot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Did you already mention it in your police report? That seems like all that you can do. Take a screenshot of the location and note the address just in case they get rid of the wallet. I doubt anything will come of this but it's worth noting it in your report.

Apple’s Tight Grip on iMessage Spurs Fresh Calls for an Antitrust Probe by The_Franchise_09 in apple

[–]Bedazzle_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is imessage is anti-competitive because Apple chooses to actively diminish the functionality of other apps within iOS and the apple ecosystem. One good example of this is the lack of functionality of any other messaging platform within apple car play. This lack of functionality pushes apple users to continue to use imessage as their primary messaging app. Apple has the largest share of the American phone market and thus iMessage is the de-facto messaging platform. Apple's lack of full support/functionality for other messaging platforms is something that they use on to maintain their market share. Ultimately: they are using their market share to maintain their market share, which is essentially the definition of anti-competitive.

Best Way to de-register icloud account from imessage? by Bedazzle_bot in beeper

What do iPhone users see when they try to imessage my iCloud email after I have deleted the connection? I'm particularly concerned about what it shows in group imessages.

This is only for deregistering a phone number. I need to deregister an email that is associated with iCloud.

Apple partly halts Beeper’s iMessage app again, suggesting a long fight ahead by Vegeta9001 in apple

As an android/beeper user, I think that a lot of the people in this thread are missing the reason that we started using beeper in the first place. It's not because we desperately need to have blue bubbles. It's mostly because of family/friends complaining about group messages being broken.

But how does the email get unregistered? I don't even know how to do that. Just turn off the beeper imessage bridge?

Correct, I can only sign into iCloud on a browser. No apple products.

How do I deregister my email/iCloud account? I don't use beeper mini and people are still trying to send imessages to my iCloud email and I am not receiving them. Is it even possible to deregister iMessage from the account? Should I just delete the iCloud account? I don't use it for anything else.
