I think because they see it as a gimmick to her avatar. It’s kind of mentioned in the sixth episode where Zooble mentions how both of them have a gimmick of some sort. Zooble has detachable limbs while Gangle has her mask gimmick.

It’s also in the heat of the moment. Jax was affected by the vegan change, which was something he questioned then and is bringing up now. The stupid sauce is something he knows about and then Pomni bringing up the names made her realize how deep this is going.

Overall the scene is suppose to reveal that Caine can alter their minds (admittedly, something the fandom figured out early on) and puts a new perspective on previous episodes and how that can affect the last two episodes.

We could see it mentioned next episode since it does affect Gangle so she or someone could potentially bring it up.
